Yep. Could be a repeat RVP moment but if longer term is the agenda then Lukaku and Kane should be the targets.
Wouldn't mind that because by the time he would leave hopefully Martial would be well on his way to fulfilling his potential.A temporary bandage, but if it got us into the top four then do it.
I've seen him have plenty of good games for PSG. Not sure how few games you watch but he's a good player and was outstanding at Napoli.
Except that Cavani is nowhere as good as RVP when we signed him. He misses way too many chances.
That's the part that concerns me, he's still a good striker, even with a slight regression he's still arguably a top 10 striker.I've watched him consistently for years. He's got a good goalscoring record but he's actually regressed as a player since he's been in France. Nowadays he shows poor behavior off the field and moans each (the rare times) he's benched.
This.With Cavani, we're about 5 years late
WE had 2 perfectly good forwards we allowed to leave.
Therefore we need a forward
a lot of games to play, and the squad needs to be added to, to cope
Think Woodward will be buying light this transfer window.
Should have seen that coming. Can light play up front?
Can light play up front?
I've heard he's fecking rapid...
How do you play Martial, Rooney and Cavani? With no players being able to consistently fill that right wing, I'd play all three together.
3 attackers like when we had Ronaldo, Tevez and Rooney. With Ronaldo playing more to the left and Rooney and Tevez just switching around and dropping deep from time to time.
Interesting read about the holy Trinity and how we played those 3.

I miss the holy Trinity
I think we are desperate enough to do it. Surely PSG can't ask for unreasonable money for a 29 year old. One think I will say is that he has immense work rate.
Except that Cavani is nowhere as good as RVP when we signed him. He misses way too many chances.
Robin wasn't exactly that clinical tbf. But for those 2 years for us & Arsenal, he consistently managed to score some outrageously good goals out of nothing. Those two years would be equivalent to most career highlights.
We already have plenty of attackers with immense work rate...who can't score a goal.
This guy would be risky as he has no previous EPL experience.
I just checked his stats though and he has scored 10 league goals in 16 appearances - which is not bad.
In comparison, our top scorer, Rooney, has scored 6 goals in 18 appearances. Which is embarrassing.
IMO, if Rooney was playing in a crap league 1 for a side that is massively better than all the others; flanked by Di Maria and Lavezzi and with a midfield of Matuidi and Verratti behind him, he may very well get 10 goals in 16 appearances too.
