It will be. Amazed to see supporters going on about it. People will forget in a few weeks, I think everyone knew this was a cultural clash, not something malicious.

I don't dispute the need for caution when using social media. What I take issue with is your description of him being a potential troublemaker.

It's an inflammatory way to describe an error of judgement, whereby you are implying it was a deliberate act on his behalf. Just admit you could have chosen your words better, like Cavani.

Bit of an overreaction this mate. I’m sure his teammates don’t care. Literally nobody cares. Everybody understands. The only people making a big deal out of this are the people who love drama.

Suarez got 8 match ban for this cultural clash. Us getting away with it would make everyone say we get preferential treatment, not just Liverpool fans.

We have let so many quality no 9's pass us by this last decade, man. Seeing Cavani play this position compared to the likes of Martial and Rashford, I had forgotten what a quality no 9 does. Hopefully we manage his minutes well and don't run him into the ground, something which Ole has a tendency to do.

I think most people including me have had no idea of the specifics around why Suarez was banned. I've just assumed it was because he used the N-word in a hostile context as opposed to what Cavani did here, but that was that. I think it's safe to say most football fans will be coming from the same place and it's a tough job to explain to them exactly what the differences are between what We / Evra claim Suarez did and what Cavani did.

I think it's one of those we have to live with, you can argue all day with individual forum posts but there will be so many people who don't know the specifics that you'd just spend the entire day replying to these posters. Anyway, I'll leave this here.

If he scores he will be going to celebrate but only with VDB, premanutd-skinhead-Lindelof, Maguire, Williams and James. I predict Martial to punch him in the face for it and Fred to headbutt Maguire for good measure. Ole will say the team is in great spirits. Obviously this is what the media wants me to think right now, and I can't lie it's working.
 
Cavani is no “troublemaker”. He may get a one match ban, but the entire sentient world will know that he meant no racial malice. Life will go and Cavani will bang in goals for us, and hopefully impart some wisdom to our young forwards on how to get the job done.

I'm a non-white minority living in a European country. But race here doesnt seem so important. We also do not "fight racism" all the time.... the topic basically doesn't exist much (at least in my life).
But in the UK or US everyone seems obsessed with race and sometimes I wonder why. o.O

What are you surprised about? Suarez got 8 game match ban for racism against Evra, it's documented and we were happy with the decision at the time. You can check it out before you start calling people shit posters. If you want to find a shitposter you don't need to look further than a mirror.

I am not saying it is the same context, you are ignoring what I said to suit your argument. The word has been declared a no no word for FA and the PL. You might not like it but it is a no no word now. We sorta campaigned to get it included and now one of our own is ignoring it and saying whatever he wants.
I never said he should get 8 match ban but to get away with it completey is also unfair. We as a club should have ban him for 2 games ourselves and hope FA agrees it is a punishment enough, with him of course apologizing. This way we can get him banned for longer and that's not beneficial to us. Troublemkaer and only joined the club. Why can't he just leave twitter and instagram for people who are not professional strikers? He'll have plenty of time to do whatever he wants once he is 35 year old and retired ffs

I wondered about the context, and he wasn't insulting anyone. So what? He said it, plenty white people said it in non-offensive manner and it slides off. Like Bill Maher, Louis C.K. used it in his joke but within context and non offensive.
People should be chill about it.
