Whether two, four or six we can agree to disagree but not on the gist of this.

How hard is that? Does it justify banging on and on about a specific player being a problem?

I saw earlier you going on about Pogba never getting a fair chance from fans and thus not owing us anything. The shoe fits, doesn't it? What loyalty or commitment can we expect from players if we are a bunch of cnuts constantly running down half our squad and even abusing them on social media?

I'm not at all happy that inside 12 months we've gone from comfortable second and EL runner-ups to utterly hopeless. Players have a lot to answer for, yes, but us fans aren't smelling of roses either. In fact, we've been part of the problem for a while now.
I’m not sure what the first part is implying to be honest? You should’ve been clearer and more honest with your stats.

With regards to Pogba, his contract is expiring in May, as is Cavani’s, at that point they both owe us nothing. People are angry that Pogba is leaving at the end of his contract. My thoughts are that I can understand why he’s leaving. Those who are skating him for that are typically those who don’t want him to sign an extension anyway and have let that be known for years.

With regards to the current situation, I’d rather Pogba had not stated twice that it might be better for him to move….however he has never asked to leave the club while under contract and has always, despite being rather injury prone that past few years, made himself available for selection…including coming back early from an international tournament break to play the first game of the season after only a weeks pre season. Attempting to come back from ankle injury too soon ultimately leading to him needing an operation. He doesn’t have an 83% v 39% availability record when it comes to international v club football.

Yet he is the one who is abused. Rather than the guy who actually asked to leave after 6 months, again after 18 months, who wanted to miss another month playing for us after an extended summer break, never mind coming back early, and who has barely kicked a ball for us since we declined his requests to leave….but plays for Uruguay.

So I don’t see the comparison in this case. My opinion is Cavani has down tooled since January but not for Uruguay and to be frank, scoring 4 league goals from September to April last season means that he’s only had two months of worthy performances in any case. Waste of money, doesn’t want to be here. Thankfully he’s gone in the summer.

I see good old jeppers7 is still at it and has by far the most posts in this thread. TBF he was at it before cavani kicked the ball at old trafford, atleast he's consistent in his agenda.

I wonder what's he upto in the pogppers7 thread ?

Well, he's mostly right about Cavani who's a player the fans decided to treat like a cult hero without actually doing anything.

And unfortunately, Cavani proved this season he doesn't deserve any more respect around here.

Any opinion on the content?

As for posts in this thread you’ll find that the vast majority of any total are in response to posters. My posts seem to trigger posters who act like Cavani has done something for us. As for consistent, I’m sure you’ll find I am. In any players performance threads if they have played well they will get credit. If the haven’t they won’t. Perhaps look back on my posts last April/May when Cavani was good and see if I was giving him credit. Then extrapolate that and consider had that form continued would I be posting negatively. Because that’s having an agenda.

Some sad posters on here recently. Have nothing to add to the debate, because the facts speak for themselves so they try to attack the poster. Sad act.

Wow, this guy wanted to leave too since ronaldos return. They're all rats.
I don’t necessarily blame him for wanting to leave given we begged him to stay. But once he got over it, he should’ve given a bit more to the cause.

Thats a disgracefully twisted version of event that you’re painting. Firstly in your stats using ‘started’ for some bizarre reason and also including:
my god you like dialling up the melodrama, eh?

Strange post....you think stating Cavani has started 5 out of 18 wc qualifiers when he was suspended for 2, had Corona for 2 and wasn’t released for 2 and also when he featured in 9 games not 5 isn’t twisting facts?

Can you tell me what you’re issue is with what I posted in the context of the debate or are you just trying to discredit the poster again like others because you can’t challenge the content?

it’s the use of the term ‘disgracefully.’ Bit much.

You can find my thoughts earlier on this thread: I thought Cavani was very good for us last year, and I was happy when he resigned. However, I think he’s been massively disappointing this year. I don’t feel comfortable questioning the legitimacy of his injury, any more than I do scrutinizing Pogba’s various ailments. (And I say that in full acknowledgment of having made snarky comments about Cavani’s incessant family pic posting on Instagram.)

Am I wrong in suggesting that only the fans questioned Pogbas injuries? Not the manager and doctors? Am I wrong in saying that Pogba doesn’t have a massively higher % of availability for country over club?

You keep painting it as dishonest when it is exactly what it was laid out to be: Cavani isn't a regular starter for the NT, has been unavailable as much for the NT as for his club, has got injured playing for the NT as regularly as for his club and has actually completed roughly as many minutes over the qualifying campaign as he did for PSG/United during that time.

He simply isn't taking the piss out of clubs paying his wages while he only dedicates himself to international football, which is what you and others keep moaning about.

By the way, Corona also affected his availability for us, us not releasing him for qualifiers is the equivalent of extended holidays with us, and red card suspensions (one game, not two) you can chalk off along with the negrito suspension.

Starts 5, off injured in 2, only finished 1, subbed on late to get match sharp in 4, out of 18. Scored 2 goals in 9, as opposed to 10 in 15 in the previous WCQ.

How is that much different from his time with us? It isn't, he's just done.

no idea - has Rangnick questioned Cavani’s injury?

I'd like to think that he was thanking everyone except you.... feck you joe....

Waste of a squad number - should have let him go warm up for Uruguay elsewhere this season. Did not react well to Ronaldo's signing at all.

I thought that ball to Elanga was class. But other than that, there was no quality at all from him.

Had to be convinced to stay, already there is the indication of his commitment this season.

Our away fans are goading the players. I mean, it's toxic everywhere you look. This is what they wanted a reaction like this.

No wonder the players dont care.

Spot on. Wanting a reaction with a phone in front of their face after a bad season and another poor performance.

Agreed it’s very toxic, fans need to come to terms with a lot of disappointment and start looking forward to Ten Hag in charge. A lot of our fan base are just going to carry on being vile humans if certain players are retained as they somehow think we’ll get rid of most of the squad and replace them.
Cavani was wrong and a pretty pathetic way to end your interaction with fans who’ve supported him for the past few years.

Great first season, nightmare of a second. He was forced to stay apparently and he showed he didn't gave a single feck, no energy and a total lack of commitment.

Good for us his contract runs out, otherwise we'll be stuck with him.

Good luck and feck off.

Are you seriously going to blame the fans for the players not caring? The fans who have for years applauded and cheered the countless abysmal performances? feck that

The guy likely deserved it

not sure why we always back the players in these situations. After the way they had played this season they should expect abuse and be able to take it on the chin.

How they played is immaterial to the video.

Fans are notoriously toxic. Giving a finger to a fan who was likely a bellend shouldn't be a contraversial issue.

if they’re shouting abuse at the players as the walk into the bus? sure.

I doubt this is the first time it’s happened either considering we’ve seen flair ups with rashford before and others I probably can’t remember.

Do you really think they go on the pitch thinking “let’s do it for the fans, got to get a result”.

Cavani is off next year he doesn’t give a feck where we end up, and as you can see from his reaction he’s certainly not gonna sit there and take abuse either.

Why are they all there filming the players and shouting dumb things just to get a reaction for the internet?

People who abuse players should also take middle finger and get on with it. No one has the right to abuse.

Not sure why people always back the twats who thinks it's cool to shout abuses at players or other public figures.
