Cavani briefing Tunazebe.

Imagine being Pellistri right there: eighteen years old, casually jogging alongside someone regarded as one of the best footballers his country has ever produced, in a foreign country at one of the biggest clubs in the world. If I were him I'd pinch myself over and over again to check and double check if this whole thing is just one beautiful dream.

Like many I was utterly underwhelmed on deadline day but had my heart set for Sancho so found it hard to be objective.

Now things have settled down I look at the deal and the player and think you know what it makes perfect sense. Very low risk for the club and a very high chance, given the type of player he is, the move is a resounding success. Hardworking, tenacious, fit, strong and bags of experience at the highest level. The latter being something this young side needed last season as highlighted in our three semi final defeats.

Think this will be great for both parties and will leave many eating their words. He's ideal for PL football and will offer the young forwards so much both on and off the pitch.

Hope for him to find some of his old form. We would be so much more dangerous with him on the fire. Cavani is pure striker, no need to BS with him. Like he needs that player to compliment him, that formation... Just give him the ball.

He did ok, got into the right places a couple of times and got 2 chances.

He wasn't that noticeable but then again we weren't that creative in attack.

Looks like he'll be decent given a better service.
Seized onto two balls well, one on his first touch.

If he stays fit, he'll get goals on that evidence.

Barely got any service to judge in such a dull, boring game but still excited about him.

He needs players that can provide him quality service! That isn’t going to happen playing Dan James. Greenwood is capable of providing decent crosses so hope they gain a good understanding

Looked more nimble than I was expecting and got into a few good positions, shame that Silva obviously knows him so well.

Clearly nowhere near enough to make any real judgements, but given me a little more hope than I had previously about him.

Promising near post attempts; a clever flick just wide, the other shot blocked after Greenwood did well to get in a cross.

Didn't get any service (like most of our strikers). Shame we didn't start our only fullback that knows how to cross a football.

"You know that shot back then? You were this close. A little bit further away and I'd be fecked."

He actually tries stuff which is more than be said for most of our other strikers who are essentially reliant on long balls and their pace or coming in off the left and trying to curl one. Issue for him is he needs service, he's not going to create a huge amount of his own and that kind of depressing team setup will not be helpful to a striker.

Looking forward to a game where he’s got Telles feeding him crosses. Great movement inside the box. Hopefully he’ll score 15 goals plus this season.

Will be a big help for us this season, especially in smaller games where we are trying to break teams down.

He got into good positions which is promising. Looked up for it. All he needs now is match sharpness. I'd imagine he will be starting midweek against Leipzig along with Van De Beek.

Did he even get one decent ball into the box ?
Mason gave one low cross I think.

Looked pretty sharp considering he’s barely played in months

Looked sharp which was very surprising. Gives us something different compared to Rashford and Martial. Will be very handy when we are chasing games.

It's great to see him in red, been a fan of him for a while. And he looked sharp today, his quality is evident and he's going to get goals for us for sure. We don't have another striker of his type in the squad, Martial, Greenwood, Rashford should be sitting next to this guy at lunch at Carrington and absorbing every bit of advice he can give them.

It's a shame we don't have any creative wingers that is able to provide the service he needs, both Rashford and James are too selfish when they are near the penalty box - i.e. cut in and shoot.

Not sure if it’s the hair but I got strong Ruud vibes when he was playing.

If he turns out to be as half as good for us...
