I don't think any opposition fan "enjoys" having rival teams being superior. Its just appreciating that the strength of a rival team might inspire a board, whether by hook or crook, to put forth greater investment in the team to compete at a greater level. What I find weird is the notion of fingers crossed fans who wish for a rival player to leave. De Gea is the best goalie in the world and god knows it is annoying facing him yet I would never actively wish he left Man Utd, its just such a petty view. The top clubs are all going to have fairly quality teams anyways.

Probably you are right, but if he was so clear about his intentions, why didn´t he ask for a transfer request?. I read (not reliable sources) that Madrid wanted him to demand/write the transfer request to speed the transfer but he wasn´t convinced
I don't think it's a norm for players to do that. Curtois was just being an asshole to force the move but most players want to leave on amicable on terms and are willing to wait a year to do so.
He is the sort of guy that if you put him in a room with a mirror, he'd get in a fight with his own reflection for stealing his limelight.

Chelsea want to be careful they don’t make the same mistake they made with Courtois. He’ll be gone next summer with 1 year left on his deal. Madrid will give Bale/Asensio a chance to fill Ronaldo boots and if that fails expect them to go in heavy for Hazard.

Is a season of Hazard worth an extra £50m? I'd say keeping is worth that cost given that any replacement would be far inferior. Heck I'd even let him run down the contract and just let him go for free, he'd be nearing 30 by then.

He'll be 28 next year, so he either moves next year or I expect him to stay at Chelsea. Can't see Madrid moving to him if he hits his 30, paying giga loads of money for 3-4 years of him, maybe even less. Hazard is heavily dependent on his dribbling, skills and pace so he's not going to stay at top level anything longer than 34 imo.
Why would Eden want to go to Real Madrid next summer? I'm sure he'll enjoy time here with Sarri. Next summer he is 28 and a half years old, I just don't see Real going for him. And by end of the season we'll be much better team then Real so...

Any chance we can go for him next season if we get Zidane as manager since Zidane is a big fan of his and he also respects Zidane . I know wishful thinking but if he is not interested in staying at Chelsea and if Real have other priorities then maybe we can take try for him .
