Eberechi Eze - Crystal Palace

Used to work closely with one of his best mates and by all accounts a very very down to earth guy who had every opportunity to abuse his situation and position and chose to work hard and settle down.

He'll go to the top. Wish he'd come to united.
Why the feck does it say I support Liverpool?!

If we ever got rid of Bruno then this would be a very good replacement. Doesn’t give you Bruno’s numbers but he’s more involved in build up play and can dribble his way through defenders

I think he can match Bruno’s non-penalty goals in a top team for sure. He got 10 or 11 this season as it is, and missed a couple months too.

He's in a similar situation that Grealish was with us in 2021.

To get more involved with England he probably needs to be playing for a CL team sooner or later.

Lovely player to watch.

Brilliant player with a great attitude. Miss watching him play live. Will be a massive benefit to whatever team he ends up at.

Would love him here but I think we'd have to sell Bruno to accommodate him.

Given the timelines at play, it might be shrewd to do just that. Bruno is 30, he is on 250k p/w and our next great team almost certainly won’t have him at the heart of it. Eze is almost 26 now, around the age we bought Bruno, and has a 60m clause and likely lower wage demands. We could likely sell Bruno for more than 60m and pay Eze less than 250k, while setting the clock back 4 years on our #10.

It's just a stretch to do given all the other work we have to do IMO. I just don't see us adding "replace Bruno" to the list when we also have to get 2 CB's, the DM and probably amrabat as depth, the CF, left back, olise at right wing... There's just a lot.

In the entirely unemotional, in and out refresh... Yeah? But it doesn't feel realistic at all given the quantity for this summer.

This is true, but then again such a move would be driven by necessity rather than anything else. If we are offered in and around 9-figures for Bruno this summer and he indicates that he wants to go, then the fact is we would need to replace him THIS summer. Given the chatter regarding interest and his fishing for more money, there is a possibility that we could fond ourselves at this crossroads this summer whether we had planned it or not.

The problem there is their availability also, Bruno is an absolute freak and I believe behind the scenes he is a great presence and very good with the youngsters similar to Licha

Bruno is on £180k apparently. He's likely asking to be bumped up because that's less than Rashford, but more pertinently it's less than Antony and Sancho.

He was probably put on 180k when he signed, but his last contract seemed to have been widely reported at 250k. There’s no way we should be increasing/extending at that amount now on a contract for a 30 year old that has 3 years left on it.

He was lower than that when he signed, probably closer to £120k, including bonuses. He signed the extension 2 years ago, so can believe he doubled it, but that still puts him below a few who he deserves more than e.g Casemiro is reportedly on £350k.

If Case leaves then that takes away that argument, but he probably thinks he deserves something over Sancho and Antony as well, just as a sign of his importance to the team.

For what it's worth, I don't think this will be an issue. There's 3 years left on his current deal, so sort the rest of the team out and then if there's room give him a little bump to keep him happy. If a Saudi club offer £70m for him and £500k p/w and he wants to go, take it and move on.

Personally, I think he'd rather stay at United and earn less to play in the PL for a few more years.

I think if we tried to sign Eze now he'd want £200k at least, especially as he can point to what we pay some other players. Plus, Chelsea would probably stick their nose in and offer him more than that, as they do

Really liked the look of him yesterday for England, he might be the one to sneak into the final squad. If Olise is going for £60m +, how much would Eze go for?

I'm a big fan of Eze but I thought he was quite wasteful in the final third against Brentford. I'd have him at United any day of the week, though.
