Costa has alot of qualities. But I don't want to see United pay good money for a 29yo who is inconsistent and injury prone.
If he was available on loan that might be a decent shout. Quality player on his day. Could rotate with Mason. Would also allow us to spend on a CM, CB and LB if we wanted.
As crazy as it may sound, i would rather than us buy Diego Costa than Douglas. At least Diego would offer us something our team do not have - aggression, wummery and goals

Spending money on the wrong player is worse than not buying anyone. If we aren’t getting Sancho this year, big if in my opinion, then we should look to take someone on loan for a year - possibly a Costa or a Dembele if their wages are an issue for their parent club and strengthen elsewhere before going after Jadon next year. It’s all about quality and the right characters as Ole says. Take the short term pain rather than making a bad decision you’re stuck with for the next 3 years. I just don’t see any way in which we sign Costa. Hopefully we’re now too well run to do it.
If we are not getting Sancho, I would rather have someone who can maintain the width. Centre of the park is already congested and we already have Mason doing it. With AWB offering very little, it probably makes sense to have someone who can offer width and stay by the line.
Don't forget giving Jones/Tuanzebe company on the injury bench
Seeing our bench options yesterday really makes me want to think twice about this..

He's never scored more than 7 goals in a season. I'd much rather we just stuck with Greenwood and bought someone young and cheap as backup.
Very injury prone and inconsistent, plus getting on a bit. The thought of him instead of Sancho is entirely underwhelming, but it's United in the transfer market, so might well happen 
Dembele or Coman should be adequate alternatives if Sancho can't come this summer. Players who are young and have upside, and can be gotten on either loan or relatively cheaply.

There's nothing in this, especially since all the reports state that Ole is building with the former in mind rather than for immediate results - and we'd have to question if we'd get those results if we bought Costa, considering he's the Willian of the suburbs.

What in hells name thinks you will get Dembele cheap? Barca will want at least 90m for him, the best I can see we could do is a loan with obligation to buy
He'll be 30 in september and is injury prone so will decline fast. His numbers from last season arent exactly great either, 1 goal and 5 assist in 23 games. I would consider him only as a loan option, but considering his contract expires in 2021 I dont think thats possible.

I dont think it would be mad if we see Demebele move for 60M, Barca is in a huge crisis, need a rebuild and are broke apparently they will put all their players as transferable besides Messi and Ter Stegen. I dont think there will be many clubs interested in Dembele so his price should drop heavily. I dont think anyone will be willing to pay more than 70M for him, and that would be a huge gamble.

He hasn't been any good for a few years. Have to think the links are unfounded on our end - he doesn't fit any of Ole's criteria for transfers.
Rather save the money and use it on a good attacking right back that can serve us for 8 plus years and partially solve our lack of attacking threat down that right side

All the posters claiming that he is average have probably watched very little of Juve. He is a sublime impact sub - probably among the best out-and-out wingers in the world when introduced the last 15-20 minutes. The problem is not lack of quality or age but that he is rarely fit when the team needs him the most and that he doesn’t last 90 minutes.
He is just the kind of player who, in the unlikely event that he would have been fit, could have helped you beat Sevilla in the dying minutes with some brilliant solo goal or assist. Or make sure Juve were still in the CL. But he broke despite being saved for that very game.

If we are not able to get sancho. I'd rather we spend the money on either Jimenez or Moussa Dembele and get Ousmane Dembele on loan for an year. We should stay the feck away from easing pains for Juventus.
Loan only to boost Squad options. Do what Bayern did with Perisic this season.
Exactly. He is a great squad player. He has the abilitiy to decide games by himself. At Bayern he did it many many times. If Bayern doesn't buy Perisic , I actually hope they can get Costa again ( a year loan ).

Abdolutely no thanks for me. He is a very talented player and quick but also inconsistent and at his age you should be the finished article, he has never really peaked, only consistently good for about 6 months under Guardiola. Not to forget, had quite a lot of injuries.
I thought he would be a good signing for us back in the day, but now I don’t think we should go there, although a loan (without an obligation to buy) wouldn’t be a terrible option if that was a possibility.
No thanks, and I doubt Ole would sign him. He has been staying clear of buys like this, so whatever happens with Sancho, I don't think he will panic buy.

I don't know if I would call 4 wingers for 2 positions insane depth, but he's certainly an able body to manage the load of this crazy season. We really, really don't want to play Müller out wide anymore. We're also definitely not going to unload Coman.
