Don't call me Shirley
Outstanding performance. Played the ghost role superbly.
AWB for me, factoring in price. Telles was a cheap punt. VDB had done pretty impressive stuff at Ajax (although he’s always been a terrible fit at United).
He just doesn’t have any qualities that stand out. Not strong, no pace, ok passer but nothing special, good in the opponents box but nothing special, not especially great at breaking down play and winning possession.
Where? There's still a player in there
Mad how there's still a sizeable population of the caf that think he should play more or is just not being used properly. All he ever does is pass 5 yards to the nearest man.
Ajax absolutely fleeced us for £40m.
Forget about support, he is the most mediocre player I have ever seen at the club. We've had some very poor Premier League footballers, but some could run, and others could put themselves about. This is the most average player I've ever seen get so much support from our fans. He did absolutely nothing all game. This is no different to how he usually plays. Maybe we will finally see the end of Donny FC when even ETH doesn't play him.
None of us do apparently. He was going to be Hag's main guy and displace Fernandes comfortably.Apparently I don't know my football for speaking about Van de beek
@Terranova
The apologists will tell you he needs De jong, its just preseason, its ETH fault, he need Van gaal, its the system.....I don't rate some of our players but at least they contribute, he doesn't.None of us do apparently. He was going to be Hag's main guy and displace Fernandes comfortably.
GriffinThe invisible man
This is the 'Mark Goldbridge effect'.
I have no idea actually whether Goldbridge has talked-up DvdB necessarily, but my point is, you see that when a prominent social media fan channel champions or pans a player, you see the same opinions adopted by a large number of clueless people.
These social media pundits are worse than clueless, yet their opinions become mainstream
You can be sick of it all you want. Oddly enough Goldbridge is chief cheerleader of the Donny fan club and blamed Darren Fletcher for RR picking Mctominay ahead of him.I am sick and tired of this argument. The idea that every time someone has a certain viewpoint it's somehow because they listen to Goldbridge is quite frankly downright silly.
That's because Gibson is a better midfielder the VDB.I've been saying it none stop, to the point it now gets ridiculed in the group chat, but he's the most nothing player I've ever seen play for us.
I understood Gibsons strengths more than VdB

Om topic: Donnie really doesn't look like he is good enough.
Not in a deeper position they didn’t.Alot of people who have seen Donny under Ten Hag expected him to kick on. So far he hasn't.
This is the Donny we know though, he didn't have a bad game, he usually doesn't.So last game he, in 15 minutes, change the course of the game and was world class... and in this game he's way worse than McT?
Maybe a player can have a bad or good game?
