Personally i thought it was all a bit too much , it wasnt bad , but with every character possibly availabel to them , and used , it was just harder to come up with a great story to end it i guess. You can watch it on bbc3 iplayer or the like i would presume

just finished watching it, thought it was quite good, i liked how the daleks spoke german 
I thought the writer did well to include as many characters and give most of them something important to the plot to do.

A load of pretentious bollocks. So the Daleks, who went through all the effort of aligning 27 planets to destroy the entire universe, also decided to install some sort button which not only stops their plans of the destruction of the universe at a simple touch, but also allows the most annoying woman who ever walked the planet to make the Daleks spin round in circles at her very whim? How very considerate of them. Seriously what an anticlimax. All this build up and this story line about the destuction of pretty much everything within a zillion mile radius and its all stopped with a split second to go when Catherine Tate flicks a lever from down to up or summit? Feck off Dr Who writers my 3 year old nephew could do better than that.

They should let the kids write it then, they could do a better job
You are missing my point, kids are extremely gullable and get scared of the stupidest things and believe the crazyiest things etc this is the norm of doctor who its always a tad stupid and sometimes extrememly unbelieveable but thats not the writers aim, the writers aim is for the kids to believe it...in which they do.
Like I remember watching "Honey I shrunk the kids" as a kid and when they find the ant and get attacked by the scorpion it all so real when all it was was a couple of puppets.
Very few things in television or movie are actually real...
I just dislike the constant use of deus ex machina by the writers everytime they encounter a problem the doctor might actually struggle with. It just seem sloppy and insulting to the viewers. 'right we have the doctor hanging off the side of a skyscraper by a cable, how the hell do we get him out of this one lads?' 'I know, why not have his scredriver magically control a winch that pulls him up?' 'Good thinking. Then in the next scene we can have that screwdriver open a locked door, fix the tardis and disarm a bomb...'
Fair enough though, I don't actually like doctor who. I wouldn't watch it if it wasn't for the fact that every saturday when I go visit my parents it is on.
The two parter was a real mess.
