So who's gonna be the new Doctor next week then as it looks like Tennant's about to regenerate.

Or am I the only sad act on here that cares?

No , you're not.

There must be a twist as there is no way in this day and age they could keep it a secret if there were really a new doctor.

Although saying that i have heard recently that both John Barrowman who plays Captain Jack had asked to play the 11th doctor , aswell as Legendary Utd fan James Nesbitt.

Don't worry, there will be some kind of intergalactic loop hole that means Tennant stays.

Good episode tonight btw, not usually that mad for it especially with that stupid bint as his side kick this series, and good to see the Darliks back too.

Nesbitt would be reasonable but I don't think he'd be great.

I reckon John Simm (the guy from Life on Mars) would have been perfect, expect he played the Master in the last series so that probably won't work.

My hunch is it'll be someone a fair bit older, as the woman in the Library episode said she had never seen the Doctor look so young.

Not sure about Tennant staying , he has made no secret of his desire to leave , god knows why , he is a good actor but he will never get a stint like this again , its been the making of him and he could go on forever , trouble is they are getting close to the quota now and how will they get round that ? ( The doctor has only ever been able to regenerate 14 times so the 15th doctor will be the last ) When Ecclestone left after just 1 series the producers must have been really pissed off.

Haven't watched an episode since they brought in Catherine Tate. Would definitely be the last nail in the coffin if Tennant goes.

I'm pretty sure he's off.

Another option could be for the Doctor to revert back to Christopher Ecclestone, that'd be fun.

As Pablo has said above though, I'm sure we would have heard about this by now though, it's hard to keep secrets like this in this day and age.

Would be a shame if it is the end for Tennant though, he's been the best Doctor for years.

I never really watched it until my son got into it , he nearly pissed his pants tonight !
But in my opinion he is the best doctor ever.

He arguably is, he is also a very good actor as I saw when I watched him in Casanova previous to his role in Doctor Who, very good if anyone hasn't seen it.

esmufc07 is the worst poster I have ever read, he makes no sense at all. Well, to me anyway.

And yet you saw the thread title and decided to open it.

Also it's made for kids. How can you not understand it? :smirk:

Also it's written such that even kids are meant to understand :smirk:

I thought I would give my honest and much valued opinion on the matter. I once watched 5 minutes of it and this piece of metal suddenly sprung to life and started going crazy, which I thought was bloody pathetic so I switched if off. I only like shows which have a sense of realism about them.

Anyhoo I'm off to watch Star Trek.

On that note , i really think Eastenders is the worst programme on tv , its so unbelievable so badly written so bad story lines and awful acting , what else comes close to the worst ?

Eastenders used to be good back in the day.

I watched an episode of The Bill a few weeks ago for the first time in ages and the acting was terrible. Even worse was the production - it hurt my eyes the way the camera pointless zoomed around. It looked like it was made as a class project by a group of 15 year olds.

Ah, so your opinion is based on plenty of experience of the show then. I'm glad you aren't making rash judgements based on a couple of minutes of viewing as that would obviously be quite baseless.

The programme just doesn't appeal to me that's all. I'd much rather watch an episode of Only Fools and Horses, which isn't on tonight because of Spiderman fecking 2:mad:

Fair enough, but why come on and say:

Dr. Who is the worst programme I have ever seen, it makes no sense at all.

when all you have seen is five minutes of the show, don't you think that is a bit daft?

I suppose it was a bit yes, but we're all daft from time to time:D

I'm glad you agree.

Just to clarify though, I'm not a major fan of the show myself, it can be a bit stupid at times, but Tennat is a great Doctor.

Oh yeah Tennant is a great actor and I'm sure he is a fantastic doctor. They should be calling time on the show now though, god knows how long it has been going on for.

I love Dr Who. It is, and has always been, part of Saturdays along with Unired...:nervous:

A regeneration? I think the hand in the jar may play a part. There is a rumour that there may be two doctors, both played by Tennant, next week.

And there's the clue. Chop off a Ronaldo hand.

Longer than you and me have been alive.

Not sure how you can keep making judgements on this show when you know feck all about it though, as you have admitted. It's like me saying 24 is shite and should be canned after not watching a single episode

If you've never watched it I suggest you do, best TV show I've ever seen. Say what you want about the US they certainly do produce good TV.

Back on topic, I shall not say a word more about Dr. Who, I've said my piece and I shall leave it at that:D

Tennant is very good as the Doctor.

Also there will be no series next year, only 3 specials (which Tennant has already signed up for).

There will be another full series in 2010 and you can bet your arse there will be a new Doctor. Who it is I don't know (see what I did there).

Well he is contracted for the specials in 2009 so unless they are prequels it will stay as Tennant. He is fecking brilliant. Although apparently for 2010 Robert Carlisle is the next doctor although Tennant said if he was asked he would reprise the role.

My first choice would be Richard E Grant and second David Thewlis.

Both are quality actors (especially Thewlis) but Grant's campiness would be more suited to the doctor's role.

I'd consider Davies as doctor as a real downward step.

Correction HBO produce good TV, the rest produce shows that are awesome for 2 seasons then turn into crap, like 24 and Lost

wow what a stunning compelling argument, such thought behind it. You totally swayed me with your superior logic and organisation.

Well, if anything 24 has got better in each season that has gone by, even Season 6, which didn't deserve a lot of the criticism it got. Season 5 was the pinnacle of the whole series for me, superb from start to finish. Seasons 3 and 4 were also some of the best TV I have ever watched.

Lost I have never seen so I can't comment, but 24 is the best show out there for me.

House is the best thing on TV atm,
I just think that 24 lost its charm after 2 seasons it just wasnt credible anymore that the world could be saved in 24 hours 3 times in a row and CTU has to have the worst backround check in history. So many moles, and they never finished the story arch started in season 1,2. Instead they did that in the video game....yeesh.
The storylines 3,4 and 5 just didnt work for me.
First season of lost was brilliant, then.....not so much.

BUMP

What about tonights season finale then , how did people who like Doctor Who find it ? Everyone else feck off or something;);)
