Do I get PES 2008 or FIFA 2008 for my 360?

PES 2007 :smirk:

Nah, seriously, I'd still say PES 08 over Fifa 08, even though I don't consider PES 08 to be as good as 07 was.

Fifa. Just go to the Fifa and Pes threads here to see the reaction. Many people feel let down by Pro Evo this year where as nobody with Fifa has complained.
Fifa shits on Pro Evo this year.

Are you kidding me? FIFA 2008 over Pro evo? This is the year I was gonna switch to pro evo. G'damnit.

Fifa delivered what its fans expected so it didn't get a lot of complaints. PES delivered a little bit less than expected, but that doesn't change the fact that it's the superior game.

Fifa delivered twice as much as what was expected.

Pro Evo stripped half of the game. Pro Evo lite.

Fifa.

It has improved beyond all recognition from just a couple of years ago. The gameplay now has all the class and subtleties to match the graphics and presentation which has always been excellent.

I used to be a PES man, but the team that make it have become so lazy. There is very little in the game that wasn't in the early versions on PS2. This years version is little more than a sloppy rehash of previous versions. For Konami's sake, next years version ought to be more of a Pro Revolution Soccer because the franchise needs a real kick up the arse.

Kick Off (and 2) and Sensi Soccer are the only two football games I've ever owned. The reason for this is that they were arcade games. When they start trying to be realistic, then IMO the whole thing becomes utterly pointless, and it's the same with any other game based on a real sport. Go out and play the real fecking thing. I have absolutely no desire to control Cristiano Ronaldo or anyone else.

Own PES but I'm likely to buy fifa due to reviews.

Disappointed with PES this year, despite it still being a great game.

Some of us don't have friends with the abilities of Rooney, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and co.. ;)

Pro Evo all the way, dont listen to the kiddies

gameplay or graphics?

Used to be the case but not now.

FIFA is a much more realistic football game than Pro Evo this time out.

Also, the online Be a Pro mode is fantastic and makes a huge change in how you play the game.

Easy decision.

If you want a game that has improved by miles from last years game then FIFA 08. If you want a better game, Pro evo 2008.

If you want a football simulation, get FIFA. If you want an arcade game, get Pro Evo.

Never thought I'd be saying that a while ago, but this year it's true.

and if youre so wrapped up in wanting a real life football simulation, save yourself 60 quid, buy a ball for 5 quid and go out in the fecking street to kick around. your health will also thank you for it.

however, if you really want a console game, want a game thats easy to pick up and play and have a good laugh with your mates, get pro evo.

Fifa 2008. Be a pro is amazing! After last year's fiasco I'll never buy PES on 360 again...

Funnily enough that is the tune Fifa fans have been singing for years.

Pro Evo has always been about offering a more realistic football game, but they've fecked it right up this year. I won't think twice going back next year if they improve, but this year FIFA's got them beat on all counts IMO.

So you're admitting its not like real football?

Though I do agree its still somewhat fun. Just not as much fun as playing Fifa.

So basically for the last few years when PES has actually been the most realistic football game in terms of gameplay, PES fans main agruement was that it had better realism in terms of gameplay and now FIFA has it, PES fans are saying if you want real football you should go outside and play it?

Bitterness.

Ive never said PES as been like real life football!

but it makes me laugh to hear some of the fifa fans use the terms "football simulation" or "its as close to the real thing"

buy a fecking football

i play pro evo because its a great game to play with your mates, is quick to pick up and play and is addictive. Yes, it would be nice to have a few more editing options but that doesnt detract from my enjoyment of playing it
