Dire cover versions

Ronan Keeting also did an appalingly bad version of Fairytail of New York wher they changed the line “you scumbag, you maggot, you cheap lousy faggot” to “you’re cheap and you’re haggard,”

:shudder:

I like a some of the better tunes from Simple Minds but this is an abomination.

And everyone fecks up Radiohead covers. Peter Gabriel doing High and Dry is a low but while trying to find a vid of it I found this which is so much worse, something I though impossible. Please make it stop.

Fine Young Cannibals had the odd decent tune but this version of a Buzzcocks classic wasn't one of them.

I tell you what, I was singing Nothings Gonna Change My Love For You by Glenn Madeiros in the car this morning and it sounded shit...

One thing that pissed me off a while back at my mam's 50th, me and my cousin Rick heard Journey come on and we grabbed a microphone each off the DJ and started belting out Don't Stop Believing and had a right good laugh until after when my sisters mates were going, 'you sang that song from Glee, brilliant!' and I felt like a right dickhead. It wasn't meant to be fecking that queer Glee shite, it was meant to be retro-rock...

And I found that Ronan Keating abomination

And this utter dog of a remake could be the winner.

Has anyone else noticed how every single Bob Dylan cover is way better than the original?
The irony is that Bobby is actually murdering his own songs these days.
'You hurt the ones that I love best and cover up the truth with lies
One day you’ll be in the ditch, flies buzzin’ around your eyes'.

Glee has a great deal to answer for.

Who cares? It is the utter destruction of music that concerns me.

Nah not me, I can't be doing with mincing kids mate; as I say, fine with homosexuality but not those prancing around with manicured eyebrows and skinny jeans with girly voices, what's wrong with being Rock Hudson gay? Be a bit manly in your unmanliness at least...

Has anyone else noticed how every single Bob Dylan cover is way better than the original? Guns n Roses-Knockin on heavens door
Jimi Hendrix-All along the watchtower
Neil Young-Just like tom thumbs blues
The white Stripes - one more cup of coffee

and hundreds more

No, hell no
Yes
No
No

Not terrible, but Little Wing is one of the greatest songs ever, it didn't need to be changed.

No sorry, of all the people that might play a Hendrix song live, Clapton is the one who's allowed to get away with it IMO. Even if he has that muppet next to him singing half of it. Take her out and the Sax player and its fine.

That is dire but wasn't Carey's version a dire cover version of the original? Bad Company was it?

Original was Nelson I think. Bad Company were pretty darned good.

I liked FYC back in the day. That is disappointing.

This one actually made me  it is so bad.

This however, is possibly the greatest thing I've ever seen. The only one who looks slightly the part is the drummer. The tall one playing the guitar is concentrating so hard it's hilarious. He's looks about as clever as a bag of spanners. And as for the singer...

Sounds almost exactly like the original but not terrible. Unless you hated the original.

William Shatner sings Rocket Man

....and he was serious

You hated that cover so much you must have deleted it from your memory!

Beer may or may not have been involved.

I even heard this dog of a version over the P.A. In the local petrol station this am. I nearly turned and ran without paying.

OK. Just heard the Muse cover of "Please Please Please, let me get what I want" and I want to punch something. How do you ruin such a great song?

Sweet Jesus, Leona Lewis just murdered Hurt there on some poxy TV show

Hurt is now probably my favouite and least favourite Cover Version
