Dippers, where are you?

It IS a good thing to get through to the second round, and credit are due to all teams in the second round cause they are all class acts. However, the game yesterday showed what a difference it is between LFC and a truly top European team. Barca controlled the game from the very first minute, and Michael Owen was totally eliminated. His goal was well taken, and it illustrates well how dangerous it is to drop the ball against LFC when building up an attack. Owen is a lethal striker in such a situation, and when De Boer failed to step up alongside Andersson to make Owen offside little Mikey punished them right away. But besides that LFC had nothing, and in the second round all defences have brickwall type of defenders like Andersson to stop the scousers from scoring. Welcome back to top Eurpean football! Things have changed since -82 :) </strong><hr></blockquote>

It's a bit patronising all this welcome to the big boys stuff...we've won more european cups than you lot, we have annihialated you in our last couple of meetings. we've only lost once to a good side who spent 60 million over the summer...it's just one game, one we could very easily have won had we been a little more fortunate.

I think with hamann back in the side and riise back in left midfield and vignal left back we will test barca in the nou camp. I think it might suit us better playing them away...time will tell

Does anyone know how many times we've lost by more than one goal at home in Europe?

Does anyone know if we have lost to Barca at home?

;)

why do you brand us as gloryhunters but mention that youve been so much more successful than utd
in every other post? how important is it for you that you follow the "most successful english team ever"?

Oh right, sorry about that...
;)

So I guess our season is pretty much over now, hard times to be a liverpool supporter... we'll probably be relegated this year and all.

Ah well....we tried playing with the "big boys" but they were too tough for us.

hopefully we might qualify for the uefa cup again, thats were we belong... :(

Surpringly enough no...We played some very tasty football last night which bodes well for the future...their's no shame in losing to barcelona. they're an excellent side.

I won't be too disappointed if we don't progress any further than the second phase either, I think we have done well enough for our first venture in the champions league...better than another team I could mention!

;)

Does that apply to the many Mancs who go to less games on here, or just me?

It does apply to anyone who have the chance (i.e. lives in this country) to go to games.

Why?

How many games do reckon fans have to go to to not be considered part timers?

No one in the UK lives too far away to go to the games. E.g, it takes 2-3 hours to get from London to Manchester or Liverpool....

So midweek games are a write off then for a start....

For some, maybe. However, there are probably at least 30 weekend games in a season....
