Let's be honest, spent most of the final making great substitutions to change the game.

Went to the fans during the game to get them behind the team, on the penalties went to Atletico fans to get behind the penalty takers.

Over the last few years he's made the team a force, he has made some amazing buys for Atletico. Brought through the like, Courtois, chances to Koke, made Torres have a wonderful year again.

The biggest loss today was that Simeone didn't get the praise and the limelight.

Just a thread to say how wonderful this manager is.

Can't fault the guy. Got his subs right. Should slap the shit out of Oblak.

Why didn't he bring Torres off, or did he? Any actual reason behind that? Was there any realistic replacement? I'm not just trying to be a critical knob, I'm actually wondering if there was something to it.

Can't believe he lost the CL to Zinedine Zidane.

Great manager, wouldn't want him anywhere near United though.

Why is that exactly, 2 CL Finals and a La Liga title against teams which have Ronaldo and Messi in their teams isn't enough for you?

It might have been different had his changed not been forced due to injury.

So unlucky in the way he lost both finals. He's doing an amazing job...hope he doesn't decide to come to one of our rivals in the future

Only three final losses behind Klopp now.

Finals are won on narrow margins. I haven't followed Klopp pro-Liverpool enough to know but Simeone deserved to win two Champions league now. You can't fault him at all.

I have no doubt he'll one day win the Champions League. I have my doubts he'll do it with Atletico though.

Was Vietto on the bench? I would have thrown him on. But anyway, fantastic manager, hope he wins it one day.

A loser is a loser, doesn't matter how.
What % of cup finals do you have to win to not be considered a loser? I know he's won a Copa Del Rey against Mourinho and Europa League.

Fergie lost his last 2 CL finals and his last FA Cup final.

He lost two of his penalty takers to injury. Thats unlucky as feck tbh.

Time he moved on for La Liga into the Premier League. Arsenal should be all over him to replace Wenger.

Interested to see why he thought Torres deserved to stay on the pitch for 120 minutes he was useless. I thought he was just thinking about the shootout and then the shuthouse didn't even step up.

Feel sorry for him. Am sure he'll get his hands on the trophy one day though.

I feel bad for the Atlético fans but I don't particularly feel bad for him.

Also he didn't bring through De Gea. De Gea had left Atlético when he was hired.

I'm a big fan of his demeanor.

He's a winner in my books.

RDM has won the CL, it's meaningless if you can't prove you're a consistent top manager, and for me simeone is a world class manager with or without a CL medal.

Respect to Simeone for making the change from successful player to succesful manager.

You seen the shit LVG received for his boring football. Can you honestly imagine Simeone at United?

He's said he's thinking about his future now. Didn't say he's going to leave, just that it hurts to have lost two finals and refused to confirm that he'll be there next season.

I'd be shocked if he left, but going by his interview wouldn't be surprised if it's his last season at Atlético.

Next Everton boss?!

Doubt it, what top clubs are available? He's better off waiting a few years and getting Barca or a top team over here.

Don't thin he could ever get a club like Barca who focus so much on their style of football, mark him in for the Chelsea job if Conte fails..

I think Zidane has potential to be a very good manager. Plus this as well as Luis Enrique 's treble shows a bit that really good players don't necessarily need the best manager around to perform or rather that having the best players will win you stuff at the highest level even if the manager is not that great or experienced.
