Diego Costa

Why do people keep saying he should've been off yesterday? For the "dive?" Feck off. In the modern game, every forward who feels any kind of contact in that area of the pitch will go down.

Did he go down theatrically? Sure, but there was contact. No different to when Rooney throws his head back and goes down like he's jumping in a pool.
What dive? Fabianski challenge?! Never a dive ffs lol

The challenge for the yellow was almost a red card in itself. Straight through the back out of anger because his teammate was dispossessed secures earlier.

He was involved in another incident inside the box that should have warranted another yellow.

Never mind the Fabianski incident.

I like him because he's managed to wind up all the right teams thus far. Pepe/Ramos, he was a dick against Pool and got someone sent off last season iirc , Gabriel from the gunners etc etc.

I'll prob hate him if he does his antics against us, but I haven't recalled him acting the turd against us yet.

He was well & truly woeful last season but he looks back to his Atleti form this season. He's scored 4 fabulous goals already and is actually putting them in for Spain as well.

Easily been the best striker in the League so far even though he runs into too many blind alleys.

Tried to get back to Spain last summer, will he this?

What a fecking loon  reminds me of Balotelli though he seems more of a moody and toned down version.
Balotelli is/was crazy, but he never looked like a guy who'd just pick a fight with a teammate out of nowhere. He was/is immature. Diego Costa looks unhinged to me

When Costa just gets his head down and plays football, he's a very good striker. However, he's usually too interested in picking fights and creating drama.

How he got away with his kick out at knee height on Fernandinho in midweek is beyond me. (actually scratch that it was Mike Dean)

It's really pathetic the way he grabs onto defenders then tries to make it look as though they have fouled him by throwing himself down, often pulling the defender with him in an attempt to win a free kick, also his mouthing off, usually when he has tried to win a foul by any means and acting all injured innocence when opponents say something to him. When he stops all the petty BS, agree with previous poster he is an awesome striker, one of the best.
It's a bit like Suarez, you can only really grudgingly admire him because of all the drama and nonsense he pulls. Great players, but they spoil it with their antics.

Apparently off with his bling to China..

No doubting his ability but he's a fecking idiot from what I can tell both on and off the pitch.
Conte's probably had enough of his shit.

Fair play to Conte, I'm sure they'll get £50m+ even without interest from China with the lack of strikers on the market.

Would be shocked if they get that much. He will be 29 this year and has made it clear his preferred destination is Atletico. He also not a 'warm and fuzzy' character. I expect around £30m sold to Atletico in summer, registered in January.

He actually is a 'warm and fuzzy' character in terms of squad integration. He's a well known joker who seems to have a laugh and generally seems well liked by all his team mates. I imagine he would fit in well with most squads. He's just an utter wanker on the pitch.

Yip. He's a quite the joker and lacks some discipline which is probably just the start of Conte's issue with him. Then add that he tried to force a move to Atletico last season, and he has never seemed eager to integrate into the club/league culture (Still can't string together basic English sentences), I'm not surprised. I do think him leaving though means the club will push for more than just Lukaku. Could be going in hard for Sanchez.

Actually meant in terms of his rep and not his true character

Just seen this. Note how everyone in the team is looking at him.

Total nutcase

His leaving and Lukaku probably heading other way is a little downgrade in my view. There was no pointing in keeping him, though, when you can't control him, and they did find similar type of striker, but in-form Costa is better then Lukaku. Not by much as I said and Lukaku is still developing but I prefer that our defense deal with Lukaku.

Wouldn't at all be surprised if Jose goes after him. I personally think he'd be a great signing and would be well motivated by being let go by Chelsea.

All but confirms Lukaku to Chelsea. Any chance of Batshuayi coming the other way ?

Wouldn't mind seeing that myself (on loan). He's a massive prospect who needs a full run. But now that Costa is probably leaving, I doubt Conte will let him go, and he'll get more game time this season.

Agreed but the upside to Lukaku is bigger of course. Costa makes the difference regularly, hardly ever scoring more than 1 in a game which means he consistently scores important goals. And the quality and timing of his runs are 1st class. But he is still an ill-discpilined hot-head and a regular injury concern.

Costa is class, but I think he's one of the ones who stopped playing for Jose and can't see him being interested remotely.

Costa would be class here though. He's a bellend, but he'd be our bellend.

LOL

Can't see us getting any more than £30-40m for Costa now this has come out. Rumours are that Milan are interested and if true I would enjoy seeing Costa up against some of those Serie A defenders like Chiellini.

With Hazard being crocked I think we will acquire Mahrez and Sanchez may well head to City.
