Did they really play together?

That would have been something to watch in their primes.

You could play the 6 degrees of separation game, but with footballers. But who is the footballing equivalent of Kevin Bacon? Who can be connected to every other footballer in the world in 6 or less connections?

Someone with a long career, but moved around a lot probably makes most sense. So Robbie Keane, already mentioned on this thread, might be good. Or Jermain Defoe?

Anelka would be decent.

There's a smiliar game on the radio I've heard. BBC 5Live have a show every Friday that Jermaine Jenas is on. Host reads out 3 (I think) players who someone in particular has played with at either club or international level, Jenas has to guess who he's thinking of. If he doesn't get it after 3 they come back to it later on where he gets another set of 2 or 3 then if needed a final set. Audience invited to Tweet in their guesses too.

There's one I've heard for clubs on Talksport. Host reads out the clubs someone has played for, people competing have to shout out the name of the player.

Maybe Ibra?

Cantona and William Prunier played together at Auxerre in the 80s. He (Cantona) also played with Carlos Valderrama at Montpellier in 89-90.

I either never knew or forgot Eric was at Montpellier. United played them the following season in the Cup Winner's Cup of course and I went to that, seeing Valderrama in action. Means that if things had have turned out differently with Marseille not wanting him back and if Montpellier could have made his loan there permanent we'd have seen Cantona playing at Old Trafford before moving to England.

If my auntie had balls she'd be my uncle but it wouldn't have required too much to happen differently for things to turn out that way.
