Di Marzio / reliable for Italian league transfers / scat approach to everything in other leagues

What an amazing summer from Di Marizo.

City set to sign Bruno in May. Nope
United close to signing Bruno. Nope
United to sign Dybala. Nope
United in for Llorente. Nope
United in for Mandzukic yesterday. Nope
United in for Inaki. Nope
Was not close to being the first one to report Lukaku to Inter yesterday either.

What a summer.

Yup, one tier below Spoofex for sure.

Did he say deals were done or that Utd was in for them? There's a difference between the two.

to be fair, we definitely were in for Dybala and Mandzukic. He never claimed it was done or anything, just that we were working on it. And we were.

the Bruno thing is just super weird, seems like Sporting and his agent tried to create a market all summer. No idea about Lorente and Williams, those links were as random as they get.

He has tarnished his reputation really badly this summer, no way around it.

He's now calling Neymar to Barcelona as completed. PSG then come out and deny it.

He has had a nightmare of a transfer window and his credibility is massively damaged now.

Is it? He'll still put out rumours and get loads of clicks, retweets etc.

That's the most mportant thing for football journalists. Not credibility.

Unless his website makes him more money than what he's paid by sky, then no, credibility is far more important to him. Been a weird summer for him, he's never jumped the gun like this before

He called Smalling to Roma to be fair. Seems he gets one right and then the next one wrong, and repeat

I've honestly never gotten the hype over this guy. He's decent for Italian transfers but just so unreliable for anything else. He's had a poor summer.

He went as far as to say signatures all done yesterday. If this move doesn't happen, his rotten summer is going to get worse.

Mostly interest. Bruno was almost done or close, the others not. Llorente and Dybala only interest, Dybala was true and Llorente maybe. We were also in for Mandzukic, which he got right as well. Inaki was a weird one, since he only vaguely mentioned it. Again said only interest, nothing concrete. I think a lot of people think if he say interest it means it is close. He got some big ones wrong, but also got much more right. His more high profile 'deal close' or 'almost done' havent been good this summer though.

If a player moves to Italy or from Italy, he is very reliable (Sanchez, Lukaku, Smalling, Lozano etc). The others are hit and miss (Bruno, Neymar)

Something is fishy with the Neymar saga. Di Marzio is good friends with Leonardo (PSG sporting director) and Leonardo's wife who works at Sky Italia. BeIN also announced the transfer at the same time and BeIN's chairman is the guy who owns PSG.

Either the transfer is done but no side is announcing it so PSG don't get fleeced when they get his replacement (apparently Dybala) or some minor detail broke the whole deal (one of the Barca players not wanting to go to PSG in a trade deal).

In any case, Di Marzio is not a bullshitter.

Add Neymar to Barcelona from di marzio too.

I'm not gonna trust this guy anymore

Just reported Darmian to Parma, medicals tomorrow

That is his bread and butter IMO
Yup and that is what he should stick to. He wasn't clued in on the Lukaku to the Inter deal either though. Some other journalists broke it hours before he knew anything about it IIRC.

One of marks of this transfer window was a need for muppets to say how he is done, fraud etc.
