Now level 29, 1 shard from finishing upgrading chest and still waiting on raid boots to hit 30.

I've got to do normal on both my alts. Will need something like 28 shards to reach 30, so could still be a while!
I think I've got over 50 shards now. Raid hasn't been kind armour wise but has been kind with shards and energy
Honestly, the hard raid is just a pain. I don't even know why I bother with it, with all the bugs it has become impossible unless everyone has gjallarhorn/truth then it's pointless trying it. I mean if the goal is to just get the Atheon then yeah, it's worth it.
You guys are welcome to my Atheon checkpoint if you want, I tried it with 2 groups of people and got nowhere. I'm down for raiding on normal on alt tomorrow, hopefully we can do it quickly though.

I've hit level 29
I do have hand armour I got in the one raid I have done. So if I was to get a helmet and feet to go along with this and my exotic chest armour I can achieve level 30...is that correct?

Yes but you can only get raid helmet on hard mode
I really like the way blues and greens are still good in PvP. I was using a green shingen for ages, was really nice.
You see a lot of level 30's and stuff still using them.
Some of the low level fusion rifles are better than most of the legendarys too, short charge times.
Stil think suros is the best pvp AR though. I have a vanquisher VIII now but i'll still lose to suros users more often than not due to the heal.
At this point i just wont fight them on their terms if that makes sense, break off and come back to shoot them point blank with a shotgun later
Or just throw a few hand cannon shots their way. You can throw out 3/4 and be back behind cover before they've killed you, get a few kills from that.
What can you do with all the random shit you accumulate? All the non-weapon/armour junk?
Its used for upgrading weapons or armour later in the game

I'll be looking to do the raid at some point this week. If anyone wants to start and early raid on normal. I'm 29 now, so could possibly even jump in on the start of a hard raid, though the final boss will likley be beyond me still.

So I finally got the raid completed on hard mode, a team of 3 x level 30's & 3 x level 29's was enough to do it and judging on the other teams I've been in probably the least amount of level 30's you should have on the raid in hm. Felt pretty bad though, on what must of been 25th attempt of killing Atheon I died quite early on due to a sodding snipe but 4 survived and managed to kill him, I came away with the Vex Mythoclast 
Has anyone have any opinions on the Mythoclast? I know it was nerfed recently but still seems like a brilliant weapon, I just can't decide which to upgrade first; Mythoclast, Suros or Hawkmoon.

You're lucky, Mythoclast is the weapon I want the most. Start levelling it up, it's getting a buff soon and it should be very handy in the next DLC raid.
Am I right in thinking the next raid / DLC is going to have a lot of solar buffs?
With the wizards, yes. For knights you still need arc though.
I'd prefer the hawkmoon to mythoclast right now. Just finished levelling the vex all the way and unless its solar burn, Atheon's Epilogue feels like it has more burst and definitely has less ammo issues - the vex chews through ammo like nobodies business, which was supposed to be what balances it before it got nerfed.
No wonder they're buffing it again, they clearly nerfed it way too hard in pve if its not hitting as hard as the weapon that drops from normal mode

Well I've given my Hawkmoon to my alt titan and going to keep the mythoclast for my warlock, hopefully they'll both level up quicker that way. Suros will have to take a back seat for now!
Ahh I didn't even think about wizards, now that will be delightful to use against them in any game mode, can't stand them

I am pretty sure we can rinse Atheon in a few minutes this evening and then have a crack at hard/switch alts start aanother normal tonight.

Aye I agree. Like I said I don't mind either way, but got AE and Corrective Measure up to 300 in preparation anyway.
Hate trying to get relic iron so not fully upgraded my Praedyth's Revenge yet. I know there's an area in the scablands where you can go looking for chests but didn't have much look last night (might be down to there being someone else in the area dancing)
I'll show you a good route later...
