Gaming Destiny | Rise of Iron launch

Everytime I join your fireteam I get booted off the servers. How strange
Yeah same here it's all playing silly. I will just leave it until Tommorow. Thanks tho!

Just found out something interesting that I didn't know. Everyone else might already know this but I'm posting just in case (since I didn't see it)

Apparently equipping certain faction armour shaders and emblems give you a stacking 10% boost per item to rep gains with that faction. Ie if you use Iron Banner shader and emblem, you will get 120% rep gains for them, and the same applies with other factions.

Haven't tested this but I remember earlier noticing I got 110 rather than 100 rep for iron banner and I think it was when I had their emblem equipped, so seems to add up.

This is probably not brand new information for most of you guys, but I never knew.

Edit: also applies to class items

I thought this wast or Iron Banner only? My mate has been running New Monarchy all night and didn't say anything about rep boosts with their gear equipped.

spirit bloom is easy to farm! There's a very good farming route, it's mostly in caves, you have to kill a few fallen though.

Yeah I know about that route. Decided to just go for a leisurely stroll around the whole island instead collecting spirit bloom as I went. Got the piece of armour fully upgraded now that I wanted to. Still level 28 though.

While I was strolling around Venus, I came across three people starting the Vault of Glass. Uploading video now of me attempting to help them... well, I say help but they had little chance. The three were on level 26 and all crowded around one sync plate I think instead of spreading around so the three were covered. Instead of covering a different one, I decided to help kill the Praetorians on the one they were marking. After three minutes I waved my goodbyes. Good times.

I don't know, haven't tested it with any others than iron banner.

I tried the Weekly Strike last night with a couple of 25's (I'm 28) and we got beat down in a big way. We ended up completing it after about 8 or 9 restarts on the Archon Priest. I've done this strike on Level 24 a few times so to find it so difficult when playing with friends makes me want to play solo. Quite a few of the game mechanics make it easier for solo play.

I think I'm a long way away from trying the Nightfall or Raid. Haven't even seen them yet. That said a couple of the guys in the group reached New Monarchy 2 and bought all their Legendary Gear so I think after a bit of farming they will be upgraded to 27 and maybe then we can hold our own.

14 shards, 23 energy and 26 strange coins I've got at the moment.
28 energy and 17 shards now  Just getting the actual materials which feels like a drag now.
Ah I hate you right now Damien, I have everything needed to upgrade basically all my armour except for the shards. All the upgrade options are just sitting there ready and taunting me.

I was reading that the only way to get to level 30 is with the gear you get from VoG, so we need to find those chests.

If were raiding tonight can someone post a guide to the chests and the part of the raid we'll be doing 1st? Missed the whole section last time as I came back in when we were against Atheon.

I'll be on today to complete the daily, weekly and nightfall if at all possible, so let me know if anyone is up for it.

Can you get different versions of the same gun with different stats?

I've been grinding weeks for the Vanquisher VIII AR from the New Monarchy, but I got one as an enegram (just as soon as I reached the required rank for them after weeks of grinding, go figure ) but this one has a different perk. I mean the base stats are the same but it swaps the +stability perk tree for some crap about having +2 agility.

I'm pretty much finished with this for now. After all that time looking for shards, I ended up with about 35 of them spare. I guess they might come in useful with the DLC in December? I'm hoping with that DLC, you can get non-raid gear that goes to level 30.

So people found a easy way to beat Atheon, we need to try this tonight.

@Coxy you know this is meant to be 3 manned right :P
haha sorry - which one was this - the one where we kept dying?? We got so close one time! I'm still trying to understand the whole strike thing.

I agree with your earlier comments by the way - it's a right slog taking on bosses with so much health - gets a bit boring.

I'm on from bout 7:30 tonight, anyone for nightfall, daily heroic lvl28?

I'm feeling, sort of, underpowered compared to some other classes as a Bladedancer. Might just be me being wank though.

Really want to level a Warlock but just can't be arsed to go through the process again. Is it any faster levelling through PvP?

Bladedancer is pretty cack for PVE, unless you spec yourself for the invisibility perks which makes you an awesome medic. Otherwise just go Gunslinger.

Its pretty damn lethal in PVP though - Arc Blade and Blink strike alone get me 10+ kills in a game. I leveled pretty much exclusively in PVP and it was fine, depends how lucky you get with drops (but that applies to all aspects of the game really).

I'm just doing PvP only for now, wouldn't even consider going Bladedancer in PvE! As I said, it's probably just me being bad although I have seen many people complaining about it.

I really want to gear up my Hunter first before levelling another class so might have to start doing some PvE soon. Would have been much more enjoyable if any of my mates played the game..

None of mine play it anymore, just add people on here.

Arc blade is pretty situational in PVP, but in a mode like control it can be devastating when you have 3 or 4 opponents taking the same control point and you're just able to hack them all down within seconds. I also use it in a 1v1 situation when I'm lazy and getting fed up with THAT guy with the Pulse Rifle one shotting everyone.

The real winner for me though is blink strike - pair it with a shotgun and you pretty much win 90% of all close 1v1 encounters.

Bladedancer is great if there is a horde of goblins or grubs to clean up, but if it's a high HP boss then gunslinger is of course better. It's nice to be able to adjust according to the level you play.

I prefer Gunslinger anyway.

I'm up for the nightfall before any raiding.

I'm down like a clown, Charlie Brown.

Should be on no later than 7:30 tonight. Also need to do daily lvl28 heroic if anyone fancies that tonight.

What I REALLY need is some ascendant crafting mats. Public events have not been kind to me...

As far as the PvP discussion goes I genuinely think Hunters are for the most part, the best. This is because armour and damage is normalised in standard crucible, so the Titans (for example) higher armour is of no benefit, nor is the Warlocks typically high damage.

Golden Gun and Arc Blade are both really powerful as you can guarantee 2-3 kills with either, whereas to get 2-3 kills with another class super requires better placement and timing. Arc Blade particularly is a nightmare as you can just blink around with it, making you a very hard target to hit.

In Control, it's brilliant landing a triple kill fist of havoc on a capture point, but the amount of time you have to wait for that opportunity, and then the risk of simply getting shot down before it lands... With GG and AB you can pop them almost as soon as they are ready, they are much less situational.

I have found that as a Titan, Iron Banner is better for me. I'm normally finishing in the top 2 on my team (barring the odd game where I suck), and I at least get a positive KD ratio now, but so many deaths come from bloody hunter supers.

I'm up for whatever later, going to head on now and do some bounties and try to level the cryptarch again.

Right, so I'm just getting some lunch now, but once I'm done, I'd like to do/try the following this afternoon if anyone is game:
1. Weekly Nightfall
2. Daily Story (28), but swapping to my alt before the boss (he's pretty easy if you just stay out of the room)

Invite me after, I'll play.
