Gaming Destiny | Rise of Iron launch

Don't need the coins, got 25 enough to buy the pulse rifle if need be.

MrPower74. I'll be on in a bit, just need to do something. Go to the tower and buy some ammo, it will come in handy.
Should the weakest player be the fire team leader? I've got a hand cannon as my primary with a shotgun and a heavy machine gun.

Ugh don't know whether to stick my legendary handgun or to go for the exotic pulse rifle..

I think pulse rifles play similarly to a handcannon anyway in that you have to take your time and lineup headshots. Red Death is going to be good for pvp but there are better things to use for pve. But they might not be immediately available so its up to you

Gone for it, can't be arsed waiting another week to buy something.

Right so if we die on final boss, we return to orbit an then rejoin leader?

Ill be back on later tonight looking to do most things. Bought the sexy Roman-esque helm from Xur, very exiting having my first exotic. Will need to farm up a serious amount of strange coins by the looks of things now.

So long and boring levelling up a second character

I find the tank pretty easy personally just coming out from behind the rock and snipering the wheels

Snipers feel way too good in pve

Like, its the best weapon against devil tanks too... Should snipers really be tank killers?

The last boss is the one thats a pain in the ass, even on the weekly his adds were really annoying. Didnt help that my team didnt seem to notice them till they were face to face either

I just used the tanks you get at the start of that area. Makes it harder to avoid getting oneshot but it dies fast at least. Probably a terrible strat for nightfall I suppose.

Anyway got 70 vanguard marks in about 3 hours last night using this http://destinypublicevents.com/.
Thought i'd share.

So long and boring levelling up a second character
I know what you mean, some of the missions are actually a bit tricky on your own as well. What level are you up to? I might be able to join you to speed things along for both of us

That's insanely hard. One of those Psy things glitched down the side and wave attacked me.

Summary:

Boss #1: Open the Vault of Glass

Split into pairs - shown on diagram by the Gs. Focus on your area, and when you do see the Praetorian, both members in the pair should work on killing him. I advise maybe using the point emote to alert your teammate that the Praetorian has appeared so you can both concentrate on killing him and moving onto the next stage as soon as possible. Clear waves and rinse & repeat until conflux spawns.

Boss #2: Templar
Phase 1: Defend the Conflux

Defend conflux from Vex. If four reach the conflux, the fight is lost. You can see the spawn locations in the image below.

New enemy called Fanatic appears that drop green pools of slime on the ground. If you step into the slime pool, you get the "Mark of Negation" as denoted on the bottom left of your HUD. If you get it, go into the big circle of light in the centre (denoted as "cleanse" in the image). Position yourself as shown and nearly everything should be covered. Just ensure that the Vex don't reach the confluxes. Kill, kill, kill and cover your zone and your zone only.

Phase 2: Destroy the Oracles

Still stay in same locations as before, but priority is to kill the yellow balls of light that appear called Oracles. If one person fails to kill an Oracle, EVERYONE is marked and have to go back to the big circle to cleanse. Just concentrate on your zone and be aware.

After phase 2 of Boss 2, you all get raid gear (either weapons or armour).

Phase 3: Defeat the Templar

Watch this video on how to do it in a couple of minutes. No idea if it still works.

After doing the above, again you get raid gear.

Boss #3: The Gorgon's Labyrinth

Seems hard to begin with but very easy if not getting chests. Watch this webm on doing it in 90 seconds:

http://a.pomf.se/ntsxmn.webm

Then the following webm will take you roughly to the throne room: http://a.pomf.se/xbdiei.webm

Boss #4: Atheon
Phase 1: Kill the Gatekeeper

Straightforward, kill the Vex that surround it then pick the Gatekeeper off. Can be done in a few minutes easily.

Phase 2: Collect the relics and defend the Conflux (this is the furthest we got to but when starting tonight or whenever we resume the raid, we'll most likely be at phase 1 again)

All hell breaks through from here onwards. It combines aspects from what has been done previously. Heavily suggest picking a number 'G' to be, and stick with it. Try not to deviate from role as it'll be confusing as hell.

Getting the first relic
G1, G2 and G3 go in the left gate and while in there...

For G4, G5 and G6 (those at the sync plate)
the people outside MUST defend the sync plate and ensure that the Praetorians don't get control of the plate. If they do while the players are inside the timegate, they get stuck inside, become "Lost in Time" and everyone dies. Must stay open until the gate party exit.

HEH3EO4.jpg

For G1, G2 and G3 (those who enter the gate)
After killing the Gatekeeper and picking up the relic, these three need to exit as soon as possible from the same side of the gate. When they exit, they must stand still so the relic carrier can hold L1 and cleanse off the "Mark of the Void" debuff which is gained when relic becomes active in the Timegate. When the debuff comes off, the relic carrier and one of the other two in the trio need to go in the right gate.

Getting the second relic
G3, G6
- defend the conflux from the Minotaurs
G4, G5 - defend the other sync plate to ensure the Praetorians don't enter
G1, G2 - after entering the second gate, the carrier needs to launch super, making sure to hit boss in middle. Partner use rockets and grenades to kill off the rest and push Gatekeeper up hill. When screen starts to get dark, relic carrier uses L1 to cleanse then continue assault.

Once second relic is obtained, get out as safely as possible (if either is dropped, party is wiped out) and entire raid party should group up on conflux and dispatch enemies until phase is concluded.

Phase 3: Defeat Atheon

vARgefr.jpg

G4, G5, G6 - G4 and G5 ensure sync plates are activated, if they're not then G1, G2 and G3 could be stuck in a room. All three need to kill the Supplicants that Atheon generates (beware, Supplicants can self destruct).

G1, G2, G3 - Atheon teleports the three that are furthest back into one of the gates so make sure these 3 are on the platform furthest back so they will be teleported. As these 3 were the ones who teleported in phase 2, they should hopefully have the experience to know what to do on the other side. When in the room, spot the relic and pick it up as soon as possible then cleanse the party. Seven Oracles will spawn, take them out ASAP. When killing Oracles, be sure that you're moving towards the exit as once all Oracles are taken out, a debuff will be gained called "Time's Vengeance"

Everyone should be back in the Present. Everyone groups together as shown below:
NBzlkIZ.jpg

The relic holder keeps hold of L1 for the entire duration of Time's Vengeance as it negates all incoming damage but allows outgoing damage to happen. Four of the remaining five attack Atheon with everything they've got, while the other cleans up the Harpies around the edges so that when shield is down, the sync gate players can safely return to their spots.

When the Time's Vengeance buff reads 0:02, G1, G2 and G3 return to the platform behind them (as shown in the first image) and when the buff wears off, Atheon will teleport those three to the opposite gate they were in before. Rinse and repeat until Atheon is dead.

Sounds confusing at first but if you read through and stick to specific role, it seems to be easier than first thought

I think if we do it again we need to try with 3 people. There are too many adds to deal with for 2 people and that room became nearly impossible to enter with your life

Me, @Damien and @Tekkers tried that, we kept dying but we did quite well.

I'm going to try an level up some more of my armour before the raid later on.

If I get no luck with a raid spot or getting this level 28 done I'll join as well with my hunter.

Only level 3 but I've got some legendary armour and an exotic helmet in the bank for it already so I need to get it done, I'll join as well.

I still need the weekly on my warlock if anyone wants to do that a bit later. Got a sick feeling in my mouth from that mission

Depending on what happens I might be able to go through it at 8pm with you.

I'd be up for trying to nightfall again if anyone wants to?

I know this might seem revolutionary, but it would be a really great feature if they could add a 'skip cutscene' option...
