Depay vs Firmino

They're both decent players and will do reasonably well. Neither are as good as the hype suggests.

I tend to agree with this from the very little that I have seen of the two (Frimino only on Youtube), both seem quite functional and neither excite me in terms of style.

I think a lot of fans of both clubs are expecting some really sexy football from these players, they might be disappointed.

Both excellent signings, and I think both will do very well. I've seen a lot more from Firmino as I follow Bundesliga closely and I think he'll fit Liverpool like a glove unfortunately. £29m is excessive, but who cares as long as he performs for them.

In regards to Depay, I'm expecting a lot, but can't say I've seen enough to make a clear judgement how quickly he will adapt.

I like both, but we don't need a player with Firmino's profile but we needed a player like Depay. So while I don't like seeing Firmino join Liverpool, I think that we bought the players that we needed and that's a good thing.

Depay looks anything but functional to me. He looks like he'll bring flair and drive first and foremost.

He is direct, Flair is not a word that I would associate with him. He gets in the box for a lot of tap ins and scores a lot of free kicks. Nothing wrong with that of course but I am not expecting to be excited by him that much.

No more so than Rooney for example.

Rooney does little dribbling and no trickery. Depay should have much more of that.

We needed Firmino whereas United didn't.
Honestly can't say I have seen too much of Depay but given United signed him early they were obviously keen to get the deal secured.

Chances are both teams have signed an exciting player.

Rooney scores at least a couple of amazing goals a season though.

I think that flair is going out of the game TBH. What with such focus on tactics and possession these days.

Di Maria though, actually, when he is on form. Messi certainly. Neymar too. Robben and Bale's blistering pace is exciting to watch also. Ribery on form is good too.
