Does anyone think West Ham would do a cash plus Lingard deal for him realistically
Declan Rice's West Ham contract ends summer 2024. West Ham have a + 1 year option according to Transfermarkt.
Just remember all the abuse flying around the club when they sold Grady Diangana to West Brom for £12m up to £18m with add-ons. Diangana had 6 PL starts for West Ham and 11 sub appearances, contributing 0 goals and 1 assist.
It would take an insane offer for West Ham to even consider selling Rice, until he gets to one year left on his contract. Even if they sold for £75m or £80m, the fans would be unhappy to say the least.
Jesse's value will have increased since going on loan to West Ham but he is still a 28 year old with one year left on his contract in the summer, that is surplus to requirements at United. So £10m, perhaps £15m.
And Moyes isn't the type of manager who wants a large transfer budget. He is a careful, deliberate, spender who needs ages to scout players before he is prepared to make a decision. He won't want to sell.
I'm not even convinced that Rice himself would desperately want to join United at this stage, when he could wait until he has one year left, then look at his options.
Who at West Ham would be in favour of selling, even for say Lingard + £65m ?
