Deadline Day! | Confirmed Signings in OP

Its rather boring.
Nothing beats the Berba/robinho deadline day.
That was madness.

2004 deadline day - Rooney
2008 deadline day - Berba
2012 deadline day - nothing

Hrm, £80m for Falcao from Chelsea? Sort it out at half time? ;)

City singing a young defender for 10m+savic (who cost them ~7m)

James Horncastle (Guardian's Italian correspondent) really rates the guy. Must be better than Savic!

They called Chygrynskiy the new Vidic.
Yes.. I did google the name.

Still no movement at Arsenal. So that's about £70m completely untouched and no DM or genuine RB cover in the whole squad. Top stuff.
Wenger loves a challange. Will be interesting to see how Arsenal are doing come january when the transfer window open again.

Frimpong to replace Song as the DM.
Wilshere to come back
Santi to be the new midfielder.
Podolski and Giroud to replace van Persie and Bendtner.

Thats good enough for Wenger.

There aren't many out there who aren't. I just don't understand, and that's what is causing me the most anguish. There is no reason why on earth we haven't signed a CM in the last three weeks. None at all.

This is like a collective moan between us and you regarding CM's. Wenger with his dealings has basically spent nothing, clever, but doesn't get you far. Smoke and mirrors.

What happened with the Mvila deal? I thought it was close to being done with the Rennes manager saying he played his last game..

Maybe Wenger has some kind of rejection complex after the past few years and now doesn't want to even try. Instead preferring to sit in a dark corner listening to The Smiths until the transfer window closes.

Wenger lost interest. I'm not bothered who he thinks is best for us, because I trust him, but we need someone in there. We're the most injury prone team in the league - it's almost as if Wenger forgets we were playing 4 CBs across the defence last year - this year, it'll be the midfield.

This forum should form a support group; United fans, Arsenal, Mancini - all who feel denied by the nonsensical lack of central-midfield signings.

You're not alone Alastair, we feel your pain :(

The difference is that you have a questionable amount of quality in there, but you do have the numbers. If Diaby gets injured, we have NO-ONE in DM. If Cazorla gets injured, we have NO-ONE in AM.

I suppose the default answer is that Arteta is the cover for both positions. Although that doesn't answer the question of who covers for Arteta?

And you reckon he'd have asked to come back if our midfield was in good shape?

Anyway, in the last 10 years Fergie has had a really bad time with our midfield, has he not?

Now you're backtracking. You said he has a terrible record with midfielders.

In the past 10 years h has won the champions league and countless league titles, mostly using scholes-carrick. Wouldn't say tats terrible would you?

Read the interviews with scholes before you comment, he asked back because he missed it and felt he'd retired too soon, not because of any performance issues with the team

So if we get some injuries then we are fecked? That's how it is for everybody.

I'd have thought 1 CM was the absolute minimum requirement. Just someone versatile would have been fine. I wasn't asking for a £20m signing, but a sensible, astute one.
