I could've sworn he used to have great distribution. What the hell happened?
I think the fact van Gaal wanted us to play out from the back benefited him greatly. We don't prioritise that as much since and I think this is the effect it's having. Still, he probably shouldn't be this bad.Yea I remember him routinely lofting passes to midfielders feet like it was nothing.
Changes in coaching method and approach?
He was very good when he started with us. Almost like a good quarterback. Has deteriorated constantly from them on. Right now it couldn't be any worse.
It has always been terrible. Probably the worst in the league he’s not self aware enough just to hoof it.
It’s a problem.
He never did. It was clear when he arrived that his distribution was a clear step down from VDSI could've sworn he used to have great distribution. What the hell happened?

If we want to be an excellent counter attacking team then DDG's distribution needs to be a part of the equation.
He should work on long throws, ala Schmikes.
He was close to VdS but probably worse when he first joined. Does feel like he's gotten worse since but we've seen plenty of keepers that have far better distribution than VdS or De Gea ever had. No fecking way was he like a quarter back.
Don't really want to start another thread.
One of the World's best keepers who makes ridiculous reaction saves from six yards.
Just can't get over how bad he is at reading penalty run ups, dives far too early for a start. If he holds his ground a bit longer I'm sure he can save the ones that don't go right in the corner.
