Cut Alexis salary and give DDG what he wants.
I think this will drag out into the summer, but not into next season. In the end, DDG will sign. Madrid was the only club I considered a threat to take him. I don't think he wants to sign for PSG, play in a laughable league, and fade out of the spotlight. I don't agree with the "give him whatever he wants" crowd, but I also recognize that the club has screwed the wage structure with the Sanchez signing.

You can't have your 15th or whatever best player getting paid half a million per week and get surprised when far superior players ask parity (or more).
I don't really buy the media narrative that it's all about money. De Gea is our best player and easily the most deserving of being our highest earner. I think the club would happily sign off on any deal that gave him a Sanchez equivalent salary or a bit higher.

Might not be a popular opinion but should we consider cashing in on De Gea whilst his stock is so high? Not sure who would buy him (PSG?). If we get £100M+ for him we could spend that on a new CB/RW or full backs. In fact a good swap deal plus cash might be best.

You can't just cut Sanchez's contract, it would be illegal.
I hope all those people who where screaming for us to sign Sanchez and claiming it was a no lose situation, who utterly ripped into the few of us saying maybe we should be cautious before handing out the biggest contract in premier league history to an ageing winger, who would be completely unsellable and would raise what other players expect contract-wise going forward.

You guys can keep screaming "best in the world" or your laughing emoji's but the reality is he can't pass, is hopeless on crosses, has cost us in the CL two years in a row and is still really poor on goals like both today. How does letting DDG leave on a free transfer and then buying a replacement for let’s say £100 million, on wages of £300k a week make more financial sense than just giving him £400k a week?

He's not worth Sanchez's wages because very few footballers are and certainly no goalkeepers are. He can be the highest paid player once that waster is out the door.

I'd give Sergio a run at some point, he's proving to be very patient but he's a top keeper too. I like de Gea but I do think he gets found out some times on crosses. For today, I don't know what to say...I thought one or both were saveable but it's all about angles and speed -- hard to see it from a camera. He's not worth Sanchez's wages, true, but then neither is Sanchez.
