Day 9 | Georgia vs Czechia | Turkey vs Portugal | Belgium vs Romania

João Cancelo’s form has fallen off a cliff. From world class to complete bang average. Dalot should be starting.

Thank god ITV have that American woman chiming in to tell us what is/isn't a foul. I don't know how we survived before they hired her.
She's actually very good at explaining what happened. She's meant for people who have little clue about the game.

Funny how Ronaldo would let Bruno or Bernardo take that free kick but one any closer and he’ll want it. He’s got more selfish as he’s got older. It’s like he feels he needs to prove he can still do it at 39

Quite the contrary. He rotates free kicks with teammates way more often nowadays., specially when they are on the right side of the pitch.

Only heard her once or twice as I have comms muted most of the time, but it's got to be better than Peter Walton chiming in with "my mate on the field is right" (whether he is or not) every time they go to him.

This is getting spicy. Hoping for some more goals by Portugal to really kick things off.

Ref may have thought the follow through was dangerous but still defo not yellow card worthy. At worst, give them the FK but the card was OTT
That was not a foul. He clearly aimed at the ball and got it, with both his feet pointing at the gound.

Leao made a meal of it and this ref sucks.

Well, we have now scored 4 goals in this Euro, 2 of them were own goals.

Here's a radical idea - why don't we have neither? Football audiences aren't thick. We can survive fine without a refereeing 'expert' chiming into the comms.

Women, when will they ever shut up eh?

I mean not her fault that they bring her in to commentate on the most banal situation. Just very random. The regular commentators don't need any 'expert insight' on that one.

Nah, I think it's worth having, especially for an international tournament where there are going to be more casual/new viewers than usual.

In most games I'd keep their input to fairly niche decisions though, probably.

As @V.O. says, these tournaments have all sorts of casual fans watching.

Very much agreed. Cancelo has been horrible. Santos would easily bench him but he's part of Martinez clique.

You'll get the people moaning you're being sexist/racist/americanist on you know

Yet when almost everyone agreed how pointless having ex refs on for their opinion, no one moaned then.

She's certainly winding up a certain type of viewer. Can only be a positive thing.
Nice jibe, but I couldn't give a feck what sex she is. I have said the same thing about Peter Whalton in the past. It's painful seeing broadcasters treat their audiences like they're thick.

Exactly.

Was it actually black american woman? I really hope my old man is not watching ITV, it'll kill him.
