Day 7: Tunisia vs Australia | Poland vs Saudi Arabia | France vs Denmark | Argentina vs Mexico

Do these team have some sort of bad history? Looks like players are more concerned about kicking the sh*t out of each other than playing football.

I can't get over Ochoa in that kit. It looks like the world's shittest Carles Puyol cosplay.

Don't bother pressing Mexico Argentina, you had a great first match result

Yeah Argentina have nothing about them. You can't rely on a 35 year old to dig you out. Everyone needs to be part of the team with defensive work, work rate, movement etc. Too easy to shut them down otherwise.
The thing is, that's precisely what was remarkable about this side. They finally had a team that did all that and didn't just "give it to Messi".

What really struck me against Saudi was that, when things got tough they reverted to the old formula that didn't work for other teams before them. No leadership, no ownership of the outcome, bunch of fecking cowards the lot of them.

Poor Messi, I actually feel sorry for him, fifteen years on it's still the same shite.

This 4-4-2 is a horrible decision by the manager. Do they normally play in this formation? They have no control through the centre and no one is even showing for the ball. There's just a big gap. Mexico haven't been good either. There are some very talented players on Argentina's bench, including cm. This match is horrendous so far.

Relying on a past it Messi and a mentally fragile Di Maria isn't the best strategy.

Winning the WC? They will not even win the group. Not even advance. What a horrible game. Snoozefest.

There were two Argentinas: The one before this WC and this one.

This has nothing to do with how they were performing. This team without Messi weas beating Mexico 4-0 at half time the last time they faced.

Honestly think Garnacho walks into this team, which is mad because he has played so little first team football so far. They really miss someone with pace and directness like him.

These players can play soldiers in war movies. They know how to fall and act as if they are shot.

Someone explain to Mexico that this is not the Saturday night lucha Libre special

nothing really stands out. maybe paredes? and where is lo celso?
  • MF: Angel Di Maria (Juventus)
  • MF: Leandro Paredes (Juventus)
  • MF: Rodrigo De Paul (Atletico Madrid)
  • MF: Alexis Mac Allister (Brighton)
  • MF: Enzo Fernandez (Benfica)
  • MF: Exequiel Palacios (Bayer Leverkusen)
  • MF: Guido Rodriguez (Real Betis)

I am laughing myself silly watching this. You guys are watching a replay of every game ever played at Azteca. Enjoy!

Another boring game incoming. Just scrap the World Cup already.

What a move by Rey Mistério on Lisandro Martinez

I fear for Licha. Don't want him getting injured..

Yep. It also speaks volumes about how low the quality bar currently is within that Argentina team.
