Day 7: Portugal vs Morocco, Uruguay vs Saudi Arabia and Iran vs Spain

Feck me disallowed

Iran playing some good stuff now

Without the VAR break Spain would've just taken a quick free kick and scored while the Iranians were celebrating their offside goal at the corner flag, right?

Why the complaining about VAR? It was flagged offside - then confirmed.

Feck me it would have been a hell of a game if that goal was given

This is the awful thing about VAR, can't even celebrate a goal thesedays without some such of crap in the background, all feels abit American Football.
The ref had his arm up way before. It was the Iranians getting over excited and it was the correct decision to rule it out.

On the bright side it may discourage extravagant celebrations. Imagine Griezman doing his Drake dance and having his goal disallowed a 30 seconds later.

why are people complaining about VAR? The ref seemed to have his hand up immediately, as did the linesman signalling offside. Not their fault that Iran were too busy celebrating to look at either of them

So they should allow offside goals because otherwise people might look silly whilst celebrating?

Correct, ever been that dude on the dance floor where a girl waves/looks in your direction and you make your move and it turns out it's actually the dude behind you she's after? exact same thing.

How dare VAR screws up the romance of the game because of the ref who ruled it offside in the first place. Shame!

Now Iran are attacking they're causing Spain a lot of problems.
