Day 6: Finland vs Russia | Turkey vs Wales | Italy vs Switzerland

Brilliant Result for Wales coming off the point they took from Switzerland. The front 4 looked a handful today against a poor Turkish side that looked terribly disorganized defensively.

This expensed format for euro is sh*t. There is just more games but the quality is very low. That will happen to the World Cup too with their new format.
UEFA and FIFA are killing the golden goose just to make more money !

This was a great game!

Do you mean expanded? If so, yes it's always been shit, and yes it's for money and power

It's been a "nerve-biting"afternoon so far, according to Gabby Logan.

Neil Taylor also described something as "the rockbed of any team" earlier on.

BBC losing out to ITV on the ability-to-say-actual-words front.

I think most of the games have been pretty decent. The game just gone was great.

Dark horses my ass, we were more like the dark donkeys. Such a massively disappointing tournament from Turkey so far.

Not speaking about this game that I did not watch but in general. When I saw the first few I could not be arssed but watching the two teams I have a connection too.
I just think the quality is lower and the big teams have much less chances to play against each other.

Has anyone with 4 points (or its equivalent) ever not qualified for the Round of 16 in this 24 team format in Euro/World Cup history?
No.

Edit: Let me rephrase that, not as a number 3 in a group anyway. Norway finished last with a win and a draw in 94, when all teams had 4 points. But that can't happen to Wales in this group.

Danny Ward is far too good to be a no.2. he hasn't played a minute of league football in 3 years at Leicester. He's been excellent in both games.

Impressive shithousing in the 2nd half too.

Yes that’s what I meant.

I still remember France in 2000 having to play Netherlands, Portugal, Italy to win it. That was great games.
Now appart from one group it looks pretty weak.
But TV rules and you have more games now, doesn’t matter if it’s sh*t ! After all people are eating McDonald’s…

Great win for Wales. Well done to them for qualifying. Turkey were abysmal, looked like they could play for days without scoring. They looked like a team of Harry Maguires, very cumbersome.

I think his major problem is that he can't kick the ball to save his life. Must have seen him set records for goal kicks going straight out watching him for Wales just in the few games he's had.

No reason he can't do a job for a lower table PL side of course, but I'm not sure he'd be much of an upgrade over the generally decent keepers sides like that have now. Can't see him really getting a game over Guita, Pope, Dubravka, Meslier etc.

The counter side of this is I don't think Wales (semi- finalists in the last tournament) would have got into that tournament without the expansion.

Why do Wales seem like such a likeable team compared to England?

Can't put my finger on it.

Seeing Keane, Neville and Vieira getting along just doesn’t look right does it

I actually think the current England team is pretty likeable, I don’t think I dislike any of them. Mings can be a knob on the pitch but he comes across really well in interviews.

I do really like this Wales team though, they work really hard and Joe Allen is a sweetie

I’m roughly 20% Swiss

Good position. I can watch, enjoy and hope they win and not be too sad if they lose

Denis Zakaria on the bench. Take it he's faded quite a lot recently? Plenty of people wanted him here.

Finishing has been awful at this tournament
Looking at so many countries playing without a proper, in-form CF, no wonder Haaland is worth 150m. I don't remember when last time I watched Germany without a target man.
