Day 5: Switzerland vs Cameroon | Uruguay vs South Korea | Portugal vs Ghana | Brazil vs Serbia

That's why Serbians should bet on freekicks and corners to take advantage of that

We actually have a decent playing team this time around. Those who haven't seen us play lately will hopefully be pleasantly surprised.

Hey you beat us at home, i know the quality but it's Brazil

The starting fullbacks are more than fine. Danilo and Alex Sandro are part of a defence that have shipped only 7 goals in Serie A.
Paqueta is supposedly a different player for Brazil and forms a strong partnership with Casemiro.

This line up plays to all of the strengths with maybe Richarlison as the only questionable starter.
Fred has typically been the starter next to Casemiro. Paqueta has only really played this role once as far as I can tell next to Casemiro.
Danilo and Alex Sandro, nah they are below average. Thiago Silva is too old to be in a back 4, and I suspect he'll get exploited before the end of the tournament. Shouldn't have many issues in the group though. Richarlison plays better for Brazil than Jesus so I get it, but I still think Jesus is far better and just needs the right system/confidence.

Whats the logic behind starting Richarlison over Jesus!?

Based on selections so far in this tournament, I'm pretty convinced that almost no national manager actually watches the players play for their clubs.

come on Neymar. let's show these bums who the best player in the world is

It probably wouldn’t have been called if it wasn’t for the ruled out goal in the first half and the penalty on Felix not being given.

Ref was atrocious all game. The amount of bullshit fouls and forgiven yellows was crazy, 2 minutes added time in the first half and 11 in the second was funny and Seidu not being sent off was a miracle.
Probably should have been a red card for the head butt, too. The Portugal player got up in his grill, but the Ghana player made the headbutt motion. Seen it given many times, Ghana were lucky there.

How about the part where the hate here is more than someone like Di Maria, who actually loathed the fans and gave it to us at OT?
Apathy can be worse than hate. I don't really care about Di Maria and now that he's out of my club, I don't really care what happens with CR37 either.

I'm feeling my age looking at all those tattoos on Neymar..... like I just don't get it :D

Football is not football without Brazil and the world needs their Joga bonito. After playing like more European teams than actual European teams for more than a decade Brazil needs to come back to its roots and play like they were meant to be. Come on Brazil !!!

Ah wish Case had scored there

Whats the logic behind starting Richarlison over Jesus!?

Richarlison has been the main striker for a while, Jesus was the starter in the last world cup (instead of Firmino) and was a bit meh. Richarlison is a better finisher / bigger presence

Brazil's pressing is impressive. Serbia have done well to contain them but can't start attacks.

Pacq was added for the passing, I don't see it, seems like Cas is doing more passing.

Serbia need to find a way to isolate Mitrovic with either of Brazil's full backs. One way would be Milinković-Savić making a third man run to get the attention of Silva/Marquinhos. Serbia have goals in them, as demonstrated in their rampant displays against Bahrain, Sweden and Slovenia just need to be patient for that opportunity.
