Day 5: Hungary vs Portugal | France vs Germany

All 3 teams will qualify anyway.
Tbh with a group of death like this it's perfectly placed for a team to not be one of the top 4 3rd placed teams as they could easily only get 3 points and lose to the top 2, in which case their GD might not be too good either.

Is Gosens any good?

He seems to be doing quite well for Atalanta. Kroos-Gündogan will be a defensive liability in midfield, no one really knows how well the front three works and Kimmich isn't really a wing back either. Might see him drift inside and Ginter play a hybrid role.

They'll all finish on 5 points and qualify

Good end to that game, I'm relieved to finally see some goals as they've been at a premium in the games I've managed to catch. Except for Netherlands vs Ukraine but I only managed to catch the first half of that.

Bit hard on Hungary to concede 3 having held out most of the time game. Final good was a really nice move to be fair.

Great wing back. A bit weak defensively to play a fullback in a back four, but in this system he should be quite good, was definitely one of the winners of the friendlies before the tournament.

Get the feck in. We can lose both the Germany and France games and more likely than not still go through

Disagraceful refereeing, yet again. Tired of this crap. It's the same shit every tournament but nowadays we also get it in qualification.

All 3 of them should defeat Hungary by a good margin (Portugal already did), and the games between them will be close affairs, at best losing by one or two goals or so. The 3rd in this group will probably have 3 to 4 points and a positive GD, definitely will go through.

Brilliant end to this game. The Hungarians got their hopes up and everything, and Ronaldo and co finished them off. Love it.

Santos always wastes so much game time before realizing what everyone sees, William and Danilo can't play together, Sanches has to be there.

Hungary played to feck up our tournament today, they have no interest in going through. No injuries is the biggest win of the day after that.

This draw was a farce. Coming into the tournament as defending champions and getting Hungary in Budapest in a full stadium, Germany in Munich and the world champions France in a 24 team tournament is stupid and it shows how badly UEFA have planned the whole thing. We were most likely out with a draw today... meanwhile the other big teams can feck up as much as they want at home.

Huge to win by 3 goals as 3 points and positive or equal goal difference should be enough to go through as it was in 2016.

Come on... that's a pathetic thing to say about a team of Hungary's (lack of) quality.

Calm down and get a grip, mate. Enjoy the victory.

Keane looking a bit drippy today. He hire a stylist?

Portugal surely need to go:
Patricio
Semedo Pepe Dias Guerreiro
Danilo Renato
Bernardo Bruno Ronaldo
Andre Silva

Can see them going defensive for the next 2, but they should've done this today and it's probably the best blend of everything in their team. Don't want to see Jota in that starting lineup again, brutal, and please no William with Danilo there. Pointless.

I'd swap Renato for one of the two DMs as well, but I'd keep Jota, his runs in behind were good even if the finishing wasn't. Against the big teams it'll be really useful. Also Ronaldo doesn't suit the LW that much because he doesn't track back nor does he dribble as much.

Renato Sanches is quality. Can United buy him and put him in our midfield? Players bounce off him when he carries the ball. He’s playing for some French club now, isn’t he?

The Werner role.

Jota should be an option from the bench. Not to start, he isn't consistent enough.
