They know keepers are gambling early, so they just wait then kick it to the opposite side. I've never seen so many penalties roll into the middle of the goal with barely any speed on them.

It goes in patterns, and keepers just need to be brave and stand up a little longer. I'm certain they'd save more doing that than gambling early at present.

You stand too long in the middle it'll be buried in the corner, you end up looking like a twat that made no effort. Like a lot on here complained at DDG for.

These teams study the keepers, much like they do the takers. They'll know if he's going to dive. The takers know if the keeper is going to move before they kick the ball by looking af him during the run up.

On average about 80% of penalties are scored. No idea why people complain about the keepers in those situations when the odds are so heavily stacked against them.

Confused by some of these comments. Atmosphere has been great on my stream (TSN). I know there are channels that turn the crowd noise levels down but surely they wouldn't do that here.

Subs look really good for Japan. Mitoma, minamino etc should probably start against Spain and Costa Rica, Japan need their technical players

on ITV its sounded bad until Japan scored. Sounds better now. But it seemed like a bored crowd up until that point.

DDG never stands too long in the middle. On the contrary, goes far too early. If you stand still and the penalty is buried in a corner, the keeper wouldn't have saved it anyway. Standing still also could unsettle the penalty taker. It was always my tactic and I saved a lot more than I let in because so often at the level I played, the taker wanted to go down the middle
 
They say great save but that's a poor effort from the striker.
