Day 23: Uruguay vs France and Brazil vs Belgium

Well, he dived first, the ball went out, but Kompany touched him. i don't think it's a penalty.

tough call. can jesus reach it unimpeded?

Haha feck these diving cnuts. Jesus I really despise this Brazil team

Stonewall pen. So glad the cheating cnuts have been fecked over.

Miranda, Silva and Marcelo all look old men at the back tonight. Lukaku unstoppable.

Weird one. Can see both sides to the argument on that. The way Jesus went down did him no favours.

I think a lot of people are living in the past with Brazil. They're a good side but not spoilt with the remarkable talent they've had in the past. A lot of these players wouldn't get anywhere near a 23 man squad.

I'm happy with that no penalty call, purely because of how much diving this brazil team is up to

I'll be honest I haven't looked up the rules yet, but is it a pen if the ball is out even though he's brought down?

That’s a pen all day, why didnt the ref even review it for himself?
Gonna have to start calling it VAR-used sometimes

ref trying to make brazil earn it and make the game physical, commentators want brazil back in it

Ball was already out despite the contact. I guess the right decision, but not sure what the ref is supposed to do in those situations.

He kicked the ball out of play. He has to be able to retrieve the ball for it to be a foul.

Must be because the player had a heavy touch on the ball before Kompany slid, ball is going out quite far in advance of the tackle in my view.
