Day 19: Morocco vs Portugal | England vs France (QF 3&4)

Yet again England could use a Scholes, Modric or Xavi as usual. Too many times their midfielders are 'heroes'. Belingham is good but just another Gerrard who will never win you these type of competitions. I'd give 30m for him because that's what he is. A great player with a Modric beside him but otherwise easily nullified.

Edit: no surprise Gerrard's best years were with Alonso.

Just can’t deal with Lee Dixon…how the feck did ITV pick him for this?

Walker with a great job so far.
Oldschool man marking. Mbappe is feeling Walkers breath in his neck no matter where he goes

Imagine spending so much money to travel and see this match only to have some prick blowing on a trumpet behind you the whole game.

xG, which England are (of course) winning on. Had that goal, a highly talented player in a load of fecking space.... as 0.02. That stat is rum as hell, it clearly doesn't take into account the actual player taking it.

Of course it doesn't, it literally tells you that it doesn't, that's the point.

Both goals today look like a goalkeeper liability error

There's something unlikeable about Saka. I can't quite put my finger on the pulse. Might be that he reminds me of Grace Jones or that he's a fragile balsa wood human who crumbles on every contact.

It's likely the incessant diving he does. Possibly the worst for it in the World.

Obviously. That would defeat the purpose of the stat. It's supposed to reflect the quality of the chance, not the quality of the person who gets the chance.

Assuming France don’t score again, Southgate will need to be proactive early on in the second half.
