Day 18: Croatia vs Brazil | Netherlands vs Argentina (QF 1&2)

Phew ! Happy Argentina went through. And I really didn’t want the possibility of another European semi-final line-up.

The better team won, I think. Incredibly entertaining game in the end.

Apart from the Messi assist and the last Dutch goal, the quality was poor but overall it was a World Cup classic.

Lautaro looked so relieved a few minutes ago. Had the guts to step up and won it.

Croatia vs Portugal in the final

A shame the Dutch refused to ride their momentum for the third goal. The Argies were there for the taking.

I think I wont be able to take another disappointment from a penalty shootout. Japan, Brazil and Dutch can go and do one.

Great game. Feel sorry for Netherlands and LVG. Argentina though, fecking hell they are unlikeable. Happy for Licha though.

Happy for Lisandro. A World Cup semi finals!

Missing him for us but hope he enjoys it.

The Dutch are cursed when it comes to penalties. So many bad memories from their feck ups.

Thank you... After the amazing netherland goal for the 2-2 I just turned it off. Started working (I came to my work office. It's a holiday here but I HAD to watch it here) and started trying to work with heavy metal music so freaking loud.

After 20 minutes the internet went off, and I started listening the neighbors screaming goals often and thought SHIT, penalties.

And then I heard such a strong scream with fireworks and I thought...we won, thank god.

They've only got themselves to blame. Reverted back into their shell and didn't give it even half a go in extra time.

Netherlands after getting Argentina on the ropes, revert back to sterile passing which originally lead them to be be 2-0. Well deserved to Argentina, although I hate Paredes, Dibu Martínez and evidently the snake.

The ref in this game was atrocious.
I expect the same from the Argentinian ref tomorrow. Didn't he sent off 7 or 8 players off in an Argentinian game? Racing VS Boca or something

I thought Michael Oliver was awful in the Croatia vs Brazil game but this Spanish ref took it to new levels. Talk about wanting to be the centre of attention rather than allowing the game to flow. This whistle happy bloke couldn’t keep his yellow card out of his pocket.
