I like Spain, but the fawning over them seemed a tad unjustified to me. Very hard to see them beating 2-3 good sides in knockout games. Not a lot of pace or physicality, or a goal scorer, plus the style of pass, pass, pass, pass isn’t massively effective.

They don't. Man City actually have wingers that can drive with the ball, so when they get to their one on ones they can actually do something. City also have players that would at least try to penetrate the opposition,with players like Cancelo actually trying to cross.
Spain looks like their just trying to win the possession stats game. Nothing penetrative, hardly anything out wide. They don't even play through balls often. It's just Pedri and Gavi showing us how well they can keep the ball when they get it. With Busquets actually giving them the potency to squeeze possession back. Yet its the youngsters that get all the plaudits, when Busquets is the actual key to their side.
Portugal are going to beat either of these teams. Still think Spain would give them a harder time
