Day 14: Netherlands vs USA | Argentina vs Australia (Last 16 1&2)

Don't know why people want Depay. He's fluffed some good 2 on 2s and 3 on 3s with bad decision making.

Did we just witness a divine miracle? He healed so quickly, Dumfries!

VAR referees need sanctioning.

I didn't watch the England v USA match. First time I've watched the USA - can't believe England couldn't beat them.

Southgate may have played for the draw. England certainly weren’t at their best that day but USA was well organized and actually dominated the match. In this game, the Dutch are sitting back and hitting on the counter. Pulisic looks wrecked from the collision in the prior match and Berhalter started inferior players up front. Why he’s binned Reyna until now I have no idea. Man for man the Netherlands are the better side, and Van Gaal is vastly more experienced than Berhalter. That it’s still only 2-0 is a credit to how competitive this match actually is.

How is it that Pulisic is still on the field but Weah is not..?

Donovan 2.0 although I rate Pulisic higher than Donovan.
In fairness to Donovan, he won best young player in the 2002 WC. Think he gave up on Europe too early when the Leverkusen move didn't work out, and then remained in his comfort zone for the majority of his career after that.

Just don't see it with Gakpo. Even though he usually ends up getting goals

Some players are just output machines but don't have great all round games. You could say Rashford is the same.

Whether we need more of those when we already have Rashford/Fernandes...

His general play has been good this game though. Constantly releasing the ball at the right time. Compared to Depay who seems to hold on to it too long

what are they on about? nothing special about that save at all

Yeah I don't think he's as bad as people make out, but I think some expect more flashy plays idk

USA scoring some great field goals

They'd be better with Mark Wright up front
