Day 11: England vs Panama, Japan vs Senegal and Poland vs Colombia

Was Poland the seeded team in this group? Did they had a good Euro or something?

Imo Poland's problem is that they have no width. Everything's going through the middle. Lewandoski did look poor in the CL against Real, and again today but he's getting 0 service.

Chesny needs to be braver there

Him? Look what the defense is doing.
Quintero could do what he want, James had massive space and Mina had a completely free header. Szczesny just tried to save what he can, the alternative would be to stay on the line.

Deserved goal by Colombia. Playing much better than Poland.

Have Poland always been this bad?

They were much better at the Euros 2016. But since then they haven't played as well, but they manipulated their friendlies in such a way that they had a disproportionately high FIFA ranking.

I am really surprised by Falcao. He had battled well with defenders and has shielded the ball and held it up well. For has he was getting brushed off by a mild breeze.

The polish defense is not very good starting the play and they miss a better midfielder.
In general they don't have a plan.
Colombia couldn't keep that intensity much longer, pity that didn't resist until half time

Not saying the others are blame free obviously but a ball like that and you'd see Neuer jump to punch it or collect it.

I'd actually say that neither team has the required quality to play at this pace. If Colombia had a top forward up front they might handle it.
Why is Falcao so deep or out wide all the time?

Lewandowski dropping deeper. Come on Poland, need a draw here! It's a shame Milik was terrible last game because I think, at his best, he's decent at getting Lewandowski involved in attacks more.

Colombia telegraph so many through balls.

I know he's had great years in the Bundesliga but when he's surrounded by average players he doesn't really standout. I regret putting him in my fantasy team.

Average team as Polish NT is, Lewy's been a disappointment this tournament too to be fair. But nah, he's much more than your typical poacher, usually he's got a good hold up game but he's been shite in yet another tournament. Perhaps he's just not able to carry the mental weight.

One thing I really dislike about Lewandowski is that he goes to ground all the time for no reason. You've got a big frame, use it. Glad to see the referee's not buying half of the dives.

Interesting. I'm sure you've watched him a thousand times so I'll take your word for it. It's been a very polarised tournament in terms of leaders or "stars". Some awful and some great, rarely anything in between.

Well that was a fun half. Come on Colombia hold it together

Can it be that his center of gravity is so high that he topples easily and can't help it? Welbeck also seems to develop that problem whenever he is shooting.

Lewandowski has seriously turned into Bendtner these last few months. What happened?

I do not know all the players but except for Zielinski and Lewandowski it does not seem that there is anyone capable of doing something different. Lewandowski wants to go down to make the play.
They have to advance the team a few meters to at least use the full backs

Krychowiak's decline in last two years is the big problem for Poland.
