Able to pull all kind of saves under all kind of circumstances. Truly the one indisputable world class player in our squad.

joint MoM along with Matic. Single handedly kept Everton out of the game.

It amazes me the kind of bollocks oppo fans still talk about him. Yes, he's universally regarded as one of the best keepers in the world but you can still often here the lazy "has a mistake in him" or something like that. Even Whoscored still have "catching crosses" as one of his weaknesses. Absolute rubbish. I'm absolutely never worried when he comes out for a cross.

Offer this man wages that no one else will want to ever match.

Needs more trophies to his name then he can be our best keeper ever.

My motm today with him having to be alert to keep us from conceding during the shaky moments.

Truly world class and one of a kind. I still can't get over those comments in summer when few posters claimed we don't really need a top notch goalkeeper, since Jose knows how to set up the defence. I genuinely think Dave won us points tonight and will win many more this season. He's the man.

I said on today's post match Everton thread: he's fantastic. Because he makes difficult things look easy, some fans assume any half decent keeper will do. But there were some pretty ropey times during the post-Schmeichel pre-van Der Saar days.
I wouldn't swap him for any of Madrid's players and I hope he's with us for some time yet.

He made one great save, the rest were pretty much directly shot at him. Still MOTM though.

Great positioning. Sign of a great keeper when they can do that, and make things look so routine and simple that you would think anybody can do that.

World class goalie. I would be opposed to selling him to Real Madrid at any price. It would be really difficult to buy another top class goalie. Gianluigi Donnarumma could be a replacement but his release clause is 80m so not cheap.

He wins us so many points. I really wouldn't mind if he's our highest earner in terms of wages because he deserves it.

he should be. he is our highest rated player on FIFA!

the only players that should come close to Dave in terms of wages would be Pogba and Lukaku imo.

DDG has been the best goal keeper in the world for over 5 years now.

Catching a cross was never a problem after his first or second season here. It's hard to find a fault in him. The only area which I think he has a genuine weakness is rushing out to clear a throughball. He hesitates a bit giving the striker a chance to get to the ball first.

Congratulation to best GK in the world for 100 clean sheets at Manchester united:drool:. Long may it continue

Pretty much this. I've been saying this for a while now, but it was never in doubt. Glad we went after him rather than Neuer.

Ridiculous keeper, love him to bits. Those saves against Rooney were top top class, not just top class, top top TOP class.

Saved us yesterday. His positioning and reactions are top, not many goalkeepers could have kept a clean sheet yesterday

Beyond debate now, he is THE best goalkeeper in the world and looks like he's gone up a level this year.. only 26, he will improve further, potential to be our best ever.

He really loves the club, doesn't he? You'll be a legend too, Dave
My favourite United player for a long while now.

He deserves as much credit as the attacking players for yesterday, he kept us in it.

Lovely no-nonsense display from him yesterday. As well as his great saves having him mopping up the routine stuff without any fuss 99% of the time is in some ways as pleasing for me.

Judging a keeper's season long performance on the basis of super saves that look great on camera is just wrong. There's far more that goes into it like organising defences, taking control of the area, positioning, anticipation etc. Take VDS for instance, he was so bloody good at these that he'd regularly make saves that look absolutely routine but would require another keeper to make a super save to keep out.

DDG's improvements in these areas has been fantastic. Bulking up and learning to command when coming for crosses was a big visual change that fairly caught a lot of media attention but without corresponding improvement in the areas you point out he wouldn't be half the keeper he is now.

Maybe his English is also better, along with his own confidence and his teammates' confidence in him, but you could tell early on in his career that mistrust bred mistrust and a lack of confidence bred a lack of confidence. Getting over that was as important, if not more so, than the physical work he did.

Just as all posters said, if it wasn't for him, we would probably be crying for a draw, since Everton would have got the equalizer and shut up shop.

Back to his imperious best after an average-ish season last summer by his standards.

Absolutely the laziest of 'analysis', but one that is repeated a lot regarding lots of players. I think you have to go all the way back to the Moyes season for the last De Gea howler (Sunderland in the league cup), and even that was entirely an isolated incident. His overall consistency is far, far beyond any other goalkeeper IMO.

And you're right. There has not been an issue with his claiming crosses since his first season.
