Is he going to play in the preseason game day after tomorrow or given a small rest due to his involvement in the Olympics?

Small rest I'd guess to mentally recharge more than anything else. Probably not too long as he had a decent break over the summer

His rest should be minimal. I hope he's back in the mix straight away. The only way he's getting better is if he's our number one. I can't wait to see him next year.

Why rest him? He's had a summer off and then basically played 3 pre-season games, like most of our squad. Rotate with Lindegaard in our next 3 friendlies and he'll be good to go.

If we can calculate that height of that suitcase, multiply it then we might be able to find De Gea's real height.

Fantastic performance so far, but other players (bar Kagawa) should be ashamed that at the moment he's our man of the match.

Those three amazing cat saves

And people think Joe Hart is the best keeper in the league? Hah.

God, imagine if that was Hart tonight, the hype would be rediculous. Conversely, DDG will still have 'question marks' over him.

He hasn't got the "presence" if the commentators are to be believed, apparently you have to be Paddy Kenny sized to have it.

Superb performance and he looked better coming for crosses.

Some excellent saves tonight. He is one of the few positives we can take from this game. Continuing on from where he left off last season.

Beside the excellent saves and the good positioning he made during the entire game, one thing I've noticed is that he has started kicking with his left leg as well.

Last season he wasn't very confident with his left and used to take 2 or 3 steps back, which just invites the opposition striker to apply pressure, just to kick with his right foot. He's obviously worked on his kicking, good to see him working on the other sides of goalkeeping as well.

Great goalkeeper.

Him and Kagawa the only real positives out of tonight's game. He made some wonderful stops in the first half.

Compared to the opening match last season, it was the team who let him down this time. Not himself.

Such a big difference from last season where he looked vulnerable from the start. Everton won almost everything in the air tonight and tried to bully him with crosses. But his bravery and shot stopping were the trademark of an outstanding keeper. He's one of our few players that did themselves justice.
