Deciding set, great stuff this after Littler’s missed match dart.

I've really enjoyed watching Joyce this tournament.

Gutted for him here. He pushed Littler all the way, Luke was deffo shitting himself towards the end there.

You can feel and see that the status as odds on favorite at this point is getting a bit to him, nervy affair even when he wasn’t really in a losing position at any given time in the game. He can just put his opponents under so much pressure the entire time though, you never felt that he’d have enough off legs for Joyce to capitalize on.

Hopefully Asp turns up on Wednesday and we get a great game there.

Littler playing this tournament with the expectations on his shoulders.

Joyce is a tidy player, terrific at doubles and if he can combine the consistency at the ton pluses then he’ll be a force to reckon with.

Based on last 2 nights, Wright would be a horrid match up for Littler

I mean, who wouldn't struggle against performances like this? Wright scored 100+ on average and hit 70% of his doubles and Joyce wasn't much worde, especially since Littler put him under almost constant pressure. Think it is rather a testament to Littler's class that he beat Joyce in such a form relatively clearly.

Fairly rare all four QFs look good - there's usually one dull match up.

I'm hoping work is slow tomorrow and I can watch the evening matches on catch up in the morning.

Wednesday January 1
Afternoon Session (1230 GMT)
Quarter-Finals x2

Chris Dobey v Gerwyn Price
Michael van Gerwen v Callan Rydz

Evening Session (1900 GMT)
Quarter-Finals x2

Peter Wright v Stephen Bunting
Luke Littler v Nathan Aspinall

I hope MVG or Price don't win this.

Anyone else and i'm happy with that!

Yes it’s obvious that Littler got through because of his class. But the point I was making was that Littlers been quite poor on the doubles this tournament but someone like Wright who has had a 52% C/O in total in the tournament (more than anyone) would be positioned to punish him.

Anyway, who do we think wins today?

I’ll go Price, MVG, Bunting, Littler.

Yeah I'd go with that 4 too

Aspinall is playing well, whether he can do it best of 9 is another story. Wright beats Bunting if he carries on with his recent form, Dobey Price is probably the closest maybe 60/40 Price

Price looking good, barring some iffy doubling. Dobey way off the pace.

How is it only the quarters, I swear the final used to be every New Year’s Day
It did and I'd be having a hair of the dog watching it back in the day. Tournament will be four days longer still next year when they expand it further.

Oof painful one for Price. Tough one to call, with the dodgy doubles.

Playing out the opposite of what I thought would happen, was expecting Dobey to outscore Price but for Dobey to be punished for missing doubles.
