Dani Olmo

Is it going so badly for him or are Barca just not able to fit him into the budget and if so, what are they doing over there constantly buying players they can't afford?
La Liga let him be registered for the first half of the season, or something weird. I’m sure Barcelona will find some weird loophole levers to work it out, no way a player of his calibre leaves on a free, midway through a season, after only just signing him for 60m

Looked on a Barca forum and quite a lot of criticism of him at the moment:

Trash recently
This guy is made out of glass and has reverted to playing like Coutinho lately.
60m for a cripple that is inconsistent af. Nice going
Many in here were calling him world class.
Thought injuries would be the only concern with Ohlno. I was wrong.
Needs to do better to justify the price tag and the constant injuries
The guy is not a top level player. For a club of Barca's stature he should be a bench option. No big club dared to get him until we jumped in head first after a good NT tournament.
How did he go from where he was before the injury to this? Something must have happened? Sure, our whole team plays more or less like shit last 6 weeks - but Olmo probably the worst of them...
I get the sense he's carrying a injury.
I think he’s playing with an injury, but that in itself is a reason to sell him too. Barca needs to stop relying on so many injured players. 36 year old Lewa has less fuking injuries than all these glass players
Not many drooled over him tbh, but he showed us some amazing football until his injury - feck knows what's going on now... Did he play above his level for 2 months straight and now reverted back to his level, is he playing injured, what? But thing is, he's way off technically compared to most of our midfielders - in tight spaces he gets disposed, bullied of the ball and press him just a little and he sends the pass way fecking off.
It’s odd with him that you never know if he’s just partially fit or off form.

Any particular reason to think he'd fare better here?

Yes. We arent 3rd playing half a team of former academy players

He has 5 goals in 7 starts and 4 sub appearances. That alone would be our top scorer in the league

Cant see any chance Barcelona let him leave for more than a loan, but yes he's obviously good enough for a mid table premier league team when fit

The link is because he can go on a free in Jan if Barca can’t register him for 2nd part of the season

He apparently has a clause in his contract, where they have to let him go if they cannot register him.
If that’s true I’d try to sign him. Wonderful player. Only thing holding him back are injuries. But if you can get him for free, that would be worth the risk for me.

But they will find a way to register him anyway. They will probably sell the rights to a hidden camera in the women’s locker room to Onlyfans or something like this.

Feels like an upgrade on Mount at first glance. But if the injuryconcerns from the barca fans are legit id rather look somewhere else. Even on a free it probably does not help us much.

What on earth are you lot on about. Even if he was injured, HES FREE. And better than any other attacker we have. And free
Free is nice, and on the best of days he is a top player, but it usually come with very high wages and if he is as injury prone as suggested by Barca fans, then well, we would end up with yet another high earner not contributing much.
But as we have seen with Mazraoui, who came with a big questionmark about his ability to stay fit, sometimes it works out better than feared. So who knows, might be a vital boost for us.

Decisions like that would explain how they have so many problems with finances. Why would you sign a player for 55 million euros and include such a clause?

He'd easily find a club to go on loan so they can sort things out in the meantime without having to pay his wages.

Won’t pretend to subject myself to watching Barcelona, but it looks like after their incredible start to the season they tailed off and very few players are still playing well.

But as a right footed no.10 who’s pretty good in half spaces and technically, he’d probably do alright in Amorim’s system.

I think his injuries are a problem, though, and he’s a little bit slow. If it’s a cut price or a free because of some weird Barcelona registration issue loophole — sure. Otherwise, maybe pass.

I think it’s a little weird that he was signed to a Flick team, as their style is so incredibly demanding. Not surprising he might struggle there, given his issues.
But when fit just for a little while, he’s worldclass. Brilliant player who doesn’t shy away from big games and moments.

Feels like every month we hear something about Barca being unable to register a player. And then a few weeks later they register the player.

I don’t watch a lot of Barca recently but he seemed class at the Euro. IMO he was the unsung hero of the Spanish campaign. Definitely Motm for me in the match against Germany (who I think were their most difficult opponent).

In doubt we would ruin any relationship with Barca by taking free after the spend 60m on him about 6 months ago. Maybe a loan.
