We're a club run by hopeless morons. This wasn't a goer from the second Ole and our scouts realised he wasnt British.

And that actually took them quite a while to figure out as well.

I'm convinced that Ole will just end up being fired or he'll quit by Dec. He is all talk and does not walk the walk.
 
We can't know what will happen in future and how each player will adapt to PL but scout who recommended James over Olmo should be fired. Olmo is twice the player than James. Simple as that. And this is not shot at James. Olmo is just better player. Only issue that he is not typical winger. He is more no10 or winger playmaker. But still, he has huge talent.

Who is he.. and why should anyone care?
Did anyone even know about him till a couple of weeks back? A half decent youth tournament and suddenly people here are upset about "missing out" on him.

The desperation for a signing, any signing, is quite sad.
 
Has anyone actually seen him play outside of the u21 tournament?

The way some people are going on we must have a lot of Dinamo fans.

James suit Ole gameplan moreso than Olmo. Do you think we will be playing possession based, total football similar to Spurs? No. Ole wants fast transition and a quick attacking front line. Olmo despite his talent wouldn’t fit in Ole’s team. If we wanted a player like Olmo we should have hired A manager like Pochettino.
 
The number of avid watchers of the Croatian league on here is impressive.

What's the worst that can happen we drive up the cost the other clubs?

Frankly I not bothered what some little football manger little Muppet has to say about him. Hes this, he's that... you stick to year 2045 mate on your game.. I'll watch football

I hope we sign this player and i'd love this guy as well

Yeah we play decent football (at our best some of the combination play can be really nice in the final third) but we're nowhere near a 'total football' team.

Pochettino likes physicality in midfield and we look our most dangerous on the counter attack more than during sustained periods of possession.

Yeah, didn’t mean to dig Sissoko out tbh, cheap shot. Quite like him for his gusto. Yeah, I mean when you think of Tottenham, you think of players like Son running in behind or releasing wingbacks with neat interplay. Failing that just give it to Kane to shoot from anywhere :D.

Sissoko had a great season and he's a really good ball carrier with a physical presence and great work rate, but he is fundamentally still a limited player and wouldn't really work in a team like City who play a more intricate brand of passing football.

But yeah, anyone who thinks we're trying to play total football is simply wrong, you only have to look at our games vs City and Ajax (two teams who do adhere to that style) to see how much we differ from those teams. We're actually very direct at times, happy to launch it long to a big man or play direct to a faster player in behind, and like you say very reliant on our wingbacks pushing up and getting service in to the box. Pochettino has his own discernible style of play, and honestly even as a Spurs fan it's not always pretty, we can be quite gritty and physical in a lot of games.

Sissoko has played right attack midfield, right back/right wing back and center attack midfield before in Pochettino system. He suits the total football ideology that Pochettino has got Spurs playing. He is pretty dynamic and is not just a center midfielder. I don’t get your post unless I m missing something. Pochettino outplayed Ten Hag at his clubs own philosophy with even the hipster favorites expected goal stats showing how dominant they were disregarding the other main stats that they were dominant in.

You watch alot of Croatian football and Championship football, dont you?

James is a good player and I'm glad we got him. I think he will turn out to be more important than what's being anticipated. As for Olmo, I really hope we get him as well. I think his best position is CM or AM. He can play the wings but his close control is phenomenal. It reminds me of Isco and Iniesta. For 30m, I think we should definitely take a punt. If not, he would be a great investment, I can totally see Barca or Real coming in a couple of years for him.

So you’ve presumed we chose a player over another we haven’t had strong links too and who also plays in a different position. Yes we can talk about presumptions, but whilst the club is in a poor state, there is a constant diminishing of our situation by belief in poor sources or just made up theories.

Maybe some saw him in the recent Euro u21 this summer which was widely televised. Seems like you're busy having a drama queen meltdown about others having a drama queen meltdown....

Let them moan in peace :lol::lol: I think at this stage after 2 signings one being a winger from the championship they are well within their rights

And the Croatian league is much much worse than the Championship. So how do you know he is so much better?

The league itself is pretty weak in relation to others, yes. But it is a very technically strong league, based on technique. One must therefore consider the individuality, the quality of each player. The Balkan produces top players again and again, have great talents. Hajduk Split and Dinamo Zagreb ... a huge talent factory. There is a reason why the Croatians are vice-world champions!

On a serious note though, Olmo is no doubt a class player.... You can clearly see his football upbringing influenced by La Masia. We are going to come across teams that sit back and that's where Olmo would come in handy in breaking down teams with penetrating passes and close control. The only person in the team that can perhaps do that would be Mata and he's a little too slow for our team. Olmo would give us a different approach as opposed to getting stocked with players with pace, width and speed. In other words, if we need a player like James, we also need a player like Olmo. Getting Olmo right now gives us multiple options as he can be played in the middle of the park as well as on the wing. He could be the stop gap till we eventually get Sancho next season.
