His delivery at corners has been always good, even last season. But the difference was that he was putting those onto a bunch of midgets with smalling and sometimes elbow man only.

Now, we have more heights and his corners will be deadly. I was expecting to have goals from his corners today for some reason. And it happened.

I thought that he was our best player in the first half, even though Pogba, Herrera, Mata and well, pretty much everyone are playing superbly so far

Leicester should have played Mahrez to take advantage of weak and slow Blind

For me he has to play so Shaw and Smalling have to fight it out for the other position. We're so much easier to play against when we don't have someone in the back four who can pick a pass.

He does not need pace too much to be effective as LB to attack. He can put the ball anywhere he wants. So without overlapping or running with his speed, he could just ping the ball all day into channel while staying way deep. And, the left side will still be deadly.

What you have to do as a manager at MU is you play first De Gea and Blind and then you choose the rest.

What a player. Consistent wherever he plays, so smart and a great technician.

You do have a serious hard on for him. He's our third back centre back, can put in a good shift there, but to me he might just be a better lb due to his ability to find space.

I must have a hard on for him too because he is our best cb and today at lb he has looked very accomplished again and obviously is better going forward than shaw

Very good today, when he plays well I think I prefer him at full back to centre-back.

Not our best cb; certainly not as fact, but not a highly controversial statement even though I disagree. At lb, he seems to be our most effective.

You may well have a hard on for him, I have no idea.

Obviously he can't play LB because of Shaw being there. Would he be able to slot in at RB? He's a better full-back than Valencia but it's whether the position suits him.

Good looking man.

Yeah it is a difference of opinion I guess, I comfortably feel he is our strongest but its not controversial either to say smalling is better. I don't even care where he plays, he just needs to be in the team.

Nah, I prefer Valencia there. He's been really good this season, counting today.
Lb,CB or cdm for me

I noticed he became less adventurous when Carrick entered the pitch; instead he just gave the ball to Carrick. Blind as cdm or lb to me is great. Blind normally struggles against very fast players though (Mahrez isn't that) but is great against clever players (Mahrez).

He is absolute fecking class. He needs to be playing every game for us.

Unfortunately he'll have 1 bad game out of 20 and people will constantly refer to that 1 game as an excuse to drop him.

That's not the case at all: people will point out when he makes mistakes, and the types of games he often makes mistakes in.

Fantastic today though, hopefully can continue to play like that.

Massively undervalued player, he can play a number of positions to a very high standard, great player to have at the squad and deserves more credit imo.

How would you quantify "normally"? There are a shitload of fast players in the Premier League and he's struggled very rarely, on the whole. The only reason you think otherwise is confirmation bias.

lol again....very fast players.

I'd imagine he means it happens on a regular basis. Not every game, of course, but more often than you'd like from a defender, which seems fair. I'd say physical players perhaps cause more of a problem sometimes than pacey ones. I'd also agree he's very good against tricky, clever players though.

Are you kidding me? Mahrez isn't fast?

Yeah he seems to put in a top performance in most games he plays. He isn't even weak imo. He outmuscled a lot of players nowadays.

MOTM contestant with Mata for me really. Shaw shouldn't be an automatic starter at LB with Blind playing like this. Very good defensively, 2 assists (doesn't matter if those were from corners, it's been ages since we scored from one), can play from the back easily.
