I've got to ask, as he doesn't have a thread, surely someone is going to buy James Rodríguez. I mean Monaco? Come on...

Apparently he's said that yes, he'd love to play in La Liga. Of course he has to say that to keep his options open. But then again: Monaco?!

So a bit of Spanish gossip. Madrid are reportedly close to a deal for Falcao. Morata and Casemiro are both expected to leave on "sale with buyback clause" deals. Illarramendi may go out on loan. Khedira has one year left on his contract and is thought to be more likely to leave than stay. Net effect, they may sign two forwards and two midfielders (they'd like Kroos and Verratti - and why wouldn't they!)

Barcelona are sounding pretty confident about Suarez, they're just wondering how little they can pay. I can see a summer of quotes from (still on the payroll, but can't train with Liverpool) Suarez talking about how he doesn't feel he can ever play in England again.

They'd also like a central defender (cash + Alves for Marquinhos so the story goes) and another midfielder. Rakitic is the Fabregas replacement. They want a Xavi replacement as well.

Atletico are still sticking to their statement: no one goes for less than the release clause. They're working on renewals for a lot of key players - Koke, for example, has already signed. They need a goalkeeper and (it's assumed - though apparently there's no deal yet) a Costa replacement. Oliver Torres will probably do a year on loan.

I think the claims that we will play three at the back next season are lazy. It's key to remember that LvG wouldn't be playing that formation if Strootman was fit. It's also important to remember that during this tournament he has lost De Jong, De Guzman and Fer to injury so his midfield options have dried up so 3 at the back probably provides the best defensive solidity with the options he currently has.
