Crouch to Sunderland?

I'm comparing them to teams like Newcastle and Bolton who finished in the 12-14th range. I reckon both those sides have more quality than them right now. Gyan is going to Galatasary now, and Crouch coming in won't help. We'll see at the end of the season, but I don't see how they'll finish around 10th. I'm going with 15th if Bruce is there 'til the end of the season.

Gyan won't go to Galatasaray, not for £6m they offered unless Bruce is insane.

I agree with opinion that Bruce hasn't done very well at Sunderland though. He's had plenty of money to spend, especially after they received £24m for Bent and hasn't really brought any quality to the team. He hasn't utilized his ability to spot a talent from a random country and develop him into a proper player like he did with Palacios, Valencia and Rodallega (also Figueroa) at Wigan. He hasn't failed yet but he hasn't impressed either, I think he was supposed to take Sunderland to the next level and they are exactly where they were when he took over.

I thought that, but apparently it is actually happening if they get Crouch. Insane indeed.

He signed him for a record £13m, if he decides to sell him for £7m less after a successful season and bring Crouch for £4m more then it's fair to say that he has gone mental. Sunderland seem to be going all British.

I suppose for Sunderland it's not a bad deal. This guy can hold up play for them, and he's going to score goals.

But he's also not going to be developing his game significantly at this point, what you see is what you get. It's a far cry from having an exciting young striker like Welbeck in the team.

Probably just about his level, could help Sunderland up to 6th or 7th at best, which would be great for them.

I'm going to kill Harry! WAG Clancy hits out at Crouch's £10m move to Stoke

Abbey Clancy has joked that she wanted to kill Harry Redknapp after husband Peter Crouch was forced to join Stoke on transfer deadline day.

Crouch sealed a move to the Potters in the closing stages of the transfer window after Tottenham manager Redknapp accepted a £10million offer for the lanky striker.

'I'm gutted Peter had to leave,' Clancy said. 'I love London. My work's here and we've been happy here, plus Mum just moved down. We can commute but it's not ideal.'

Speaking to The Mirror, the model, who has recently given birth to the couple's first child added: 'I saw Jamie (Redknapp) and I told him: "I want to kill your dad". He laughed. It'll be fine, I'm sure Stoke's quite nice.

Crouch was reluctant to join Tony Pulis's side, but says he was swayed by former team-mate Jonathan Woodgate.

The England striker, who fell down the pecking order at White Hart Lane after the arrival of Emmanuel Adebayor on loan said: 'Woody was on the phone every hour trying to persuade me to come here. He only had great things to say about the club and that was a major factor in me coming here.'
