Out of the World Cup... we can wrap up the deal now!
Even a half fit Ronaldo is better than most players in the world. Let's sign him up!!

it's not about the names, its about how they play. argentina's attack has been invisible regarding aguero and higuain's contributions, and now aguero is going to miss the rest of the tournament due to injury, tellingly, some consider this a blessing to argentina considering how poor he's been.Yeah, right. Aguero-Higuain-Di Maria-Lavezzi support cast is same as Nani-Eder etc... Also, playing against Nigeria and Iran is same as playing vs Germany and USA/Ghana.

have been here before with Ronaldo, could have had 3-4 more today! Even not 100% fit he's still that big a threat.
Really is a shame the team round him are so pony.
Nani was at his pure infuriating worse today
What a contradicting post. Ronaldo has been just as crap as his team mates.
Nani is the true marmalade player.

Aguero and Higuain have been as good as Helder Postiga this world cup. Lavezzi was nothing more than a substitute this far. All 4 of Messis goals were individual brilliance (apart from the 1-0 against Nigeria).
Lets not sugarcoat it, he's been terrible, and fluffed their best chances. Shame. He'll be more pissed off than anyone though.
He looked like he couldn't care less.
Possibly a byproduct of his injury ? What sort of performance should one realistically expect from a player with a bad knee ?
Im not buying this injury BS, they could have taken him off Vs Germany when the game was lost but didnt. He has played full matches this whole tournament. He was just crap and people dont want to admit it.Possibly a byproduct of his injury ? What sort of performance should one realistically expect from a player with a bad knee ?
It's not just his performance, read my post on previous page.

I understand the self-aggrandizing, knee jerk nature of wanting to say he's lazy and crap, but he has been injured. Didn't the Portuguese team Dr. say he was risking his career in staying on the pitch ? That doesn't sound like a minor injury either, so maybe the insufferably tedious pitchfork brigade can give it a rest this time.
But if it's really that risky, why does he even play then? He's played the full 90 minutes in all 3 games (I think), why would he risk his career in todays game when it was pretty much impossible for Portugal to go through anyway?

It's pointless trying to reason with some of these Ronaldo haters. No matter what he does they always find a reason to justify their negative comments. He is injured we have all seen the difference when he is fit. I think some of them are even more upset about the fact he won't be around for them to make their sarcastic comments.I understand the self-aggrandizing, knee jerk nature of wanting to say he's lazy and crap, but he has been injured. I guess

Good performance from him. Unlucky with couple of chances, on another could easily have had 3-4. With such an average and more than that, bunch of idiots around him in national team, he could have hardly gone much better in World Cup.
Hi Ronnie. Better luck next time, thought you should have taken at least 1 of your 5 sitters.
I don't understand the speculation about his fitness. He already admitted he's not 100% after the USA game and I've mentioned it in the previous page.

What five sitters ?
Apparently good saves by GK nowadays are called missed sitters by opposition players. Or maybe it applies only to Ronaldo...who knows..
Yeah the word "sitters" seems to be overused by a few posters. Every vague goal scoring opportunity is now suddenly a sitter.
This is desperate, when you have a free effort in front of goal it's a sitter. And like it or not these are excuses.
Where are the five sitters ?
In on goal against Germany, shoots straight at the keeper. In on goal against USA slices wide with a wild effort.
Then you had about 3 or 4 alone today, free header put straight at the keeper, chance 4 yards out from the nani cross, in on goal at the end and hit straight at the keeper again, and another tame effort right at the keeper from a cut back from the left.
These were all clear cut chances you'd expect any top striker to take, whether you like it or not. Had it been Nani or anyone else missing them they'd have been slaughtered and we all know it.
Well yes, a top forward who is uninjured may well take advantage of some of them. Also, a chance on goal is not a sitter.
I'm not going to waste my time. His injury isn't anywhere near as bad as some are making out to be, if he was even injured at all. And it certainly shouldn't prevent him from finishing right in front of goal.
I knew the excuses would come out if he didn't play well anyway.
If you're denying he was ever injured in the first place there's no point in proceeding with this.
You're right, it's pointless arguing it with someone who doesn't think a free shot on goal 6 yards out is a sitter. Carry on though by all means.
Well what else is there beyond his performance ? Do you actually think a Portuguese lad, who happens to be captain of his national team and World Player of the year, would go to Brazil of all places, and not give a shit ? Its obvious he's barely playing at 70-80% of his usual capacity.
