Cristiano Ronaldo | Transfer Speculation

Mourinho was invited to Ronaldo's movie premier and they spoke. I think talk of a rift is outdated.
This move won't happen but it won't be because of Mourinho.
Read somewhere Mendes brokered a peace between them back then. And then Mourinho fired some more shots after the Euro and Cristiano's reaction was like "Who's Mourinho?"

Dunno if Mendes managed to broker another peace. Last summer Cristiano didn't even want to be in the same room with Mourinho...

So obviously it's all loads of bulshit.

Feels like a smokescreen for something else, the question is what?

I know we have a pretty set transfer budget for this summer. But a chance of signing Ronaldo don't happen every summer. The Glazers and Woodward might view the transfer of Ronaldo as an exceptional cost beside our budget. He brings so much more to the table than any other signing. Think of the commercial possibilities, marketing potential, bigger chance of short term success and nearly guaranteed CL fotball next year.

It's a lot of money for a 32 year old, but if one player is worth it, it's surely Ronaldo.

As a lot of others have said, I don't think this can actually happen...but if it did, would it be Mourinho's RVP moment?
Get a player in for 2-3 years who guarantees goals, accepting that there is no resale value?

How important is immediate success to Mou and Woody?

If he's available we've got to go for him, from a marketing perspective it would be huge.

And from a footballing perspective, it's phenomenal.

Another hypothetical scenario: Imagine Ronaldo and Rooney both move to the same club in China. Scores would be 13-0

Imagine how many more they'd score without Rooney.

Ffs, always the same soap opera before he goes to a competition with the NT, last year it was the microphone of the journo, year before in Brazil the drama with his knee, always reporters on press conferences asking about his knee to coaches and players, the circus around him sometimes is bad for the NT, hopefully maybe he will be pissed off and make a hattrick against Mexico :lol::lol:

Aye. Last week he said we'd agreed a deal for Morata for €73m.

Also, lower down his tweets he said United fans shouldn't get too excited as he "doesn't get on with Mourinho"

That'd be the worst case scenario, he does leave, but not to us.
Meaning any Real Madrid players we're after are suddenly off the table while they take stock of what would be a huge change.

If it's ever gonna happen, now is the time.

He's literally accomplished everything at Madrid but there's one thing he hasn't done at United and that is become our record goalscorer.

Ronaldo would officially go down as the best player to ever play for the two biggest clubs in the world... United and Madrid. Plus he would likely play as a striker for us now. Ibra, Schweinsteiger and Rooney would free up the wage bill.

Tbf, it'd make things quite convenient for a certain part of our support who have been forced to keep supporting United since he left.

If we somehow get Ronaldo, I'll consider the market successful even if our rest signings are Cleverly and Welbeck.

Remember when Graham Hunter was on Twitter every day basically saying "Guys, I know you all think I'm being taken for a ride by Ramos' brother but he's telling me it's all true, this isn't him scheming for a new contract, I promise.."

People obsessed with PSG. It won't happen.
Exaclty. Ronaldo is not playing in Ligue 1. The day he goes to the French league is the day he withdraws himself consideration from winning another Ballon d'or which is obviously very important to him.

If he leaves this summer it will only be for Manchester.
