He's 34, you don't get to downplay this shit. feck off.

Is this still a debate? Can people just accept the fact that he has surpassed Messi 5 years ago.

They just need one early goal and Simeone's inferiority complex will do wonders for Juve's odds.
One long shot, a free kick, set pieces, a penalty, random cross or a melee in the area, something like that goes Juve's way in the first 20 minutes and it's Atletico's game to lose,
It is not Messi is a close second but Ronaldo is the greatest of this era and will be remembered as such.Of course it's still a debate, you only have to watch Messi play football to realise that.
He has 26 goals and 12 assists in the league this season to go with 6 champions league goals of his own. What is it with people on both sides of this debate that they feel the need to completely downplay the other?
Absolutely. He is ahead of Di Stefano, Cruyff and Messi in that aspect (by a country mile in the case of the later two). GOAT is another thing and many players can claim it (at least 4 in my opinion) but for European cups should be pretty unanimous at this stage.Regardless of whether he is the overall GOAT, he’s the greatest European Cup player of all time.
Cristiano Ronaldo believes he'll score a hat-trick to eliminate Atletico Madrid
The first leg of Atletico Madrid and Juventus' Champions League tie was not a good night for Cristiano Ronaldo, as his team lost 2-0 and as he was insulted and jeered by the fans at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano.
Now, the Portuguese wants revenge in the second leg and has been repeatedly telling his close family and friends that Juventus will progress and that he'll score a hat-trick.
Says the Sporting fan. Yeah now I'm convinced, thanks to your great objectivity. It is not Messi is a close second but Ronaldo is the greatest of this era and will be remembered as such.

No he won't. Maybe in Portugal and Madrid.
I don't even care who is better, I'm not a fanboy of either and they're both tremendous footballers, but the general consensus among neutrals is that Messi is the better footballer. Pretty much all ex pros who have played with both go with Messi, when almost anybody who plays the game is asked they say Messi.

That has been the wrong answer since 2014. Ronaldo has conquered 3 leagues won the CL everywhere he went only missing Juve he won a major trophy with Portugal. Their is nothing left to prove. No he won't. Maybe in Portugal and Madrid.

On a side note, Real eliminated Atletico in the last 4 out of 5 editions of UCL (I think), in some of them CR playing an integral part, and now he does it again.
