I have no problem with his celebration at all. No problem with the what he said after either. He’s just factually incorrect when he says “English teams looking for set pieces”. We look for silly fouls far less than Spanish teams and he’s one of the biggest divers in world football.

Probably just hurts him that our Juan can actually strike a free kick.

Best player I've seen play for us.. Won a Balon D'Or with us. If that isnt enough to be a club legend, I have no idea what is.

I don't understand people trying to downplay how great he was for us..

Don't think it's as fact as that. It's debatable. He gave us 2 years of his prime while the rest of it was with Madrid. He is more of a Madrid legend than a United legend imo. One of the best players to play for us but we didn't see him long in his prime. Madrid were the ones to enjoy most of it.

People will say anything just to hate on him. The man has shown nothing but respect to United since he has left has faced United 4x since then and was as respectful as can be each time and he scored in 3 of the 4. God forbid the man celebrated.....by looking at his..abs...give me a break lets just shun him shall we. He is a club legend for sure. I truly love the CAF but Jesus there are some idiotic and plain silly stuff said on here sometimes.

I for one think he would celebrate against Madrid for example take that as you will.

I agree with some of that but Ronaldo from 06/07 until the time he left was by far the most exciting player to put on a United shirt in recent memory. Players have said this as well. He is a United and Madrid legend for sure. More Madrid I agree.

I don't disagree. As I said he's one of the best players to play for us but him being a legend or not for United is something debatable. He left once he hit his prime and started putting in his ridiculous numbers. We enjoyed 2 years of his prime, while Madrid enjoyed what, 9 years of him. Maybe if he had stayed for 2 or more seasons here or so it would have been easier to classify him as United legend but as it's, it will always be debatable among fans imo. We agree he's more of Madrid legend though.

@Peyroteo he is my favourite ever player. I still have photos of him in my room, at my parents house. I just can't accept someone who gave us a relative short time of his peak and left us for what he thought was a bigger club, as a legend. I definitely don't have an agenda against him.

He’s the same idiot who criticized Iceland for a “small team” mentality when Portugal did the same for the entire tournament

One of the best players to wear the shirt, sure.
Legend? Nah.

I don't have a problem with him celebrating. Juventus player celebrating his goal, what's wrong?

How I feel.

His celebrations are so, so cringe.

Brilliantly taken goal though. Fantastic. Luckily it wasn't a winning one. :D

The man has every right to be arrogant. Don't care how he acts or celebrates. I'd always take him ahead of Messi and I'm not sure if it's because I rate him higher as a player or because he played for us. Him saying we didn't do anything to win is just stupid. Our subs were spot on, we defended well, we scored twice and could have had a third one. If we start counting would-haves and could-haves a lot of matches would end in double digit scores. As for him being an United legend, well he's just not, irrespective of our two matches against Juventus. He did great things for us but we also did great things for him before he made it clear he wants to spend his peak at Real. He's a legend of the game, of Real and of Portugal. Not for us. Was told to behave here when I said I wish he wouldn't get another special welcome at OT two weeks ago. Now I can hope we won't be playing against us at home.

Great goal. Fantastic to see his annoyed face at FT. Indifferent to his celebration as I barely care about any Ronnie love in. It’s completely immaterial to us.

Great goal , great crosses , great passes , said Sorry to fans , perfect display for us :D

He may be a club “legend” in the stats & what he achieved, but clearly amongst the fans he divides opinion somewhat.

Statistically for instance, he’s ahead of Cantona but not many on here would be debating whether Cantona is a United legend or not.

It clearly rankles some that he left us to go to Madrid, when the traditional view is/was “you can only step down a level after leaving Manchester United”.

I think in this case it demonstrates perfectly the tendency of Iberian/South American players seeing Barca/Real Madrid as the pinnacle and the ultimate playing objective.

So if the player reaches a high enough level and either of those clubs come knocking, the player tends to want to feck off there usually. Mascherano, Xabi Alonso, Coutinho more recently spring to mind.

I often think of us as being a similar level to Bayern Munich; a massive club with a great history but probably a slight notch below the two Spanish giants in terms of overall leverage & pulling power.

Given the choice of two identical players, one being a Northern/Eastern European and the other being an Iberian/South American, i’d always take the former for this reason. I think they are more likely to “be loyal”.

He’ll win it for Juve this year.

The confidence and belief he brings to a side is unbelieve.

We might be absolutely dross, but if we had Ronaldo upfront we’d win the league. On another day Juve would of hammered us.

No we wouldn't. I think people are underestimating the gulf between us and city. One player isn't going to make up for this. We need WC players in 3-4 positions and then great chemistry to make up for that gap. He'd probably get us competing/ahead of Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal but not City

His post match comments says everything about his "love" for our club. As someone else said... He doesn't love our club, but Sir Alex.

Won us one of our only three cls, if anything that cements his legend status but is less of a lehend than other players.

At least I understand this celebration. When I see some fancy or idiotic moves during matches or watch later the clips and then it turns out that it's from Fortnite or whatever they are playing nowadays... I just feel old.

On a second thought Ronaldo is also not helping my case to not feel bad about myself. It's time to hit the gym, I guess.
Please expound upon it for me, then, because I haven't a clue what the hell it was about, and why he'd do that after scoring such a spectacular goal.

Someone mentioned Patrick Bateman earlier in this thread, and it was the exact same thing I was thinking when he did that; it's something you would genuinely expect to see in a movie starring Patrick Bateman.
I mean, wtf is that?

He is not our legend. He is superstar player, one of the best in our history but not a legend. He lost that status with slave quotes and crying for transfer. He should be treated same as Tevez.
Can't believe that some fans stil love this prick

He celebrated in Juve home ground. Stop being bitter and get over it. Seriously it's the 21st century and the stance for political politeness has gone. Ronaldo went a few games without a goal in Europe so he celebrated because of that but also because his Juve team took the lead. He was a great player for us, never a legend at his time at United but is now a legend of football. Let him be, he always respects our club and Fergie. What more do you want? Him to cry if he scores against us?

Some Utd. Fans spew venom against one of their greatest ever players, an absolute Utd legend while at the same breath call out Chelsea fans on the "disrespect" shown towards Mourinho. Fail to understand the logic here.

He apologised to the United fans straight after to be fair to him.

Why the feck does he need to apologise

Celebration was cringe though, but have no issue with him celebrating.

His son seemed the least happy among his family when he scored. Others were on their feet celebrating and he was just there looking.

This isn’t opinion, it’s absolute fact

Honestly he could be more diplomatic and say something like "We played better and were unfortunate to lose" or something like that. But he didn't said nothing wrong or negative regarding the club. Probably doesn't like much Mourinho, other than that is nice to learn we have guys here who do abs but don't show it. We live in a world where everyone is perfect and do nothing wrong. Whatever.

Not really. It was a tight game until they scored, then they dominated for ten minutes and could have scored two more.
We equalised, dominated and scored one more and should have scored another.
The only reason we didn't have the same ten minutes of domination was because of how close to the end we scored.
Its sour grapes.
We showed we had it in us to turn that momentum around. I don't think Juve had it in them to do the same
That actually sounds encouraging.

Id say any team smashing another team would have been unfair.

Juventus got chances on our goal for 10-15 minutes, but we also did the same in the final 10-15 minutes.

If we lost 3-2 I would have been happy with the performance, but we got a bit of luck and came out winners. It happens in big European games sometimes.

Besides being a sleezy narcissist, he’s still a pretty fecking great player. Thought he looked quicker and lighter on his feet than in years, toyed with both Young and Shaw at times. Scored an absolute stunner and should’ve had two assists to top it off. Coming back to United was surely never an option for him this summer, but I can’t help but think, what if?

Just feels like an age since we've pulled one of these games in Europe for yanks.

Wtf? Don't have any problem seeing it? Are you on a computer? Lets see no spoiler. Ok now? Took it from a Inter Forum

If the picture you’re trying to send has a blue background with a big Red Cross through it then yes I can see it
